Finally gave the two tracks a listen

Wildfire is easily one of the best songs Periphery has released since Juggernaut imo, an absolutely fantastic track. The layers <3 and ohhhh the Thordendal-style solo <3333

I know people say we rip off meshuggah, but I did go full on thordendal rip off for that solo section haha. Just had fun with it.

It's blasphemy to play a solo like that on any guitar with a scale length less than 27".

I'm digging the new tracks.

Also loved how the guys went to go get refreshments during the piano solo in the video for Wildfire. That was entertaining.

I thought the judge said you weren't allowed within 100 yards of any school?

Wildfire is a great song, fantastic structure. I love the chorus it has an amazing vocal performance and great hook.

The songs got a bit of a The Dillinger Escape Low Feels BLVD vibe to it, you know what I mean.

Hey Misha any reason why so many callbacks to Juggernaut specifically? Did some of these riffs start out as Jugg 2 material (inasmuch as that was ever a thing)?

Also, annual reminder that the obsessive anti-periphery dude likes Winger.

Nice to hear the Four Lights groove come back on Zagreus around 2:55 or so. Absolutely monster riff. Wildfire was a little odd at first. A lot happening, chrous was exactly that but was definitely catchy in an uneasy way. Cool vibes and I'm starting to like it the more I listen.

Anyone else think it's weird how many ideas are reused on these tracks from older songs?

I think it's great, it's like a touch of nostalgia especially when its elevated and displayed in a new context. You get this a lot in The Fragile by NIN, the same motif crops up in different songs each time with different instrumentation.

It's a little odd, I won't lie. Gives off a "we have run out of ideas" vibe. I doubt that's actually true, but I'll be curious to hear the rest of the album when it drops. Maybe these are just the playing it safe songs.
