I regret getting rid of all three of them. The V is from when Rondo had the custom shop open. I don't think they even make the Hornet V anymore. I traded someone on here an axe for it and it ended up being my #1 for years. That apex was a sleeper for sure though, the recessed TOM is probably the...
Considering Fluence or EMG's for my RG7421. What are you guys doing to make them fit the pickup routes for direct mount? I know i'll have to open the corners up a little bit, just not sure how much a little bit actually is.
I think I might be more excited for the early demos, as they sound more like the first album and Ensiferum. I am stoked this is actually a thing now though and the clips sound epic.
I didn't play on those Ortega's long enough to see how well they kept in tune. I liked the neck shape and they played great though. I'm guessing it would be very hard to find direct replacement tuners for an 8 string if those do have tuning stability issues.
For what it's worth, I am really...
As someone who owns and plays both classical guitar and lute, I would go with a classical. The string spacing on the lute makes it really difficult plus the tuning, which is essentially a guitar capo'd at the 3rd fret. Also tuning a lute sucks. 13+ nylon strings with friction pegs...you're gonna...
It's a mutt/partscaster. Neck and hardware from a RG1570. I'm guessing a body from Perle. Really sick, but out of my price range. Plus i'd rather it be a 7, and more crushed ruby red. So, prob going to build my own soonish™.
Can't afford a used prestige unfortunately.
I'm rocking a RG7421 (not Japanese) and a Warmoth partscaster through a Kemper rack. Though, I'm thinking rather than buy a used Prestige in the near future, I might just build one from a custom body and donor neck. Perhaps a 7 string version of this...
Did the supply chain shortage hit them hard or something? No septor, no texan, no sentinel. Seems like all they have these days are headless multiscale 10 string monstrosities. Not that that's a bad thing... just what happened to the other stuff?
I really don't dig the headstock on these but if I can snag a used one for $650ish like the 6 string version a year from now, I might pull the trigger.
I haven't tried any of them and I kinda refuse to pay BKP prices. The Scarlett/Scourge set really interests me because they're not quite as high output and seem to sound great split. Still seem to be pretty modern sounding with great harmonics.
Tbh though, it's literally just copper wire...
I already contacted them, 5.5" isn't quite long enough for the 7 string version and they don't make one for a 7. I don't remember off the top of my head, I can measure again later. Pretty sure the text is the same as a 6, just the swoosh is longer.
I did find one source in the Netherlands but...
