Well, that rumour is completely false 
I've had one in mine for YEARS now without any problems.
However, mine is the old MIJ S7420, which has a standard Floyd-style trem, called the Lo-TRS. The newer ones have the ZR trem, and I can imagine they can't use the tremol-no at all, since there is a whole lot more to that mechanism. If I'm not mistaken though, they do have some sort of built-in blocking option.
