That looks great. One of the few with an actual locking nut instead of a normal nut with a clamp.

I've owned a Trad and have looked over some of the new 50s at GC, and I think the Trads had taller frets. New Gibson frets seem very low to me. But I've not measured. 50s I think have thinner neck binding, which imho does look a bit cooler. Otherwise, I think they're the same thing.

These were done by an assortment of people (Aperio, Glaser, Fat Cat Custom Guitars). All we're done well with stainless wire. It is difficult to find a competent luthier to do it without messing up the board etc, but each of these guys did a good job and would recommend them all. Wait times...

I finally broken down and had some LPs refretted with jumbo wire, and I really wish I'd done it sooner. An LP with huge frets really seems to have been exactly what I was wanting. Has that LP sound and look but the playability of a more shredder-type guitar.

Some guitars are too funny not to post

Would have been much better if the cup label was incorporated into there somehow.

The soapbar/staple pickups. I prefer a humbucker sound since I'm a metal head in the end, but the black soapbars looks cooler to me with a black LPC.

I just love how a '54-type LPC looks.

It's normal for a ESP sold originally in Japan to have only a gig bag and no hard case.

How bad do you let frets get before getting them redone?

That doesn't look like it would impact the action/playing any. I would polish them up as best you can and just keep playing. But polishing could really help keep the wear minimal by reducing the friction there as much as possible.

E-II or Standard Mystique will have a laminated top. ESP will be a full maple top with figuring all the way through (if it's a trans finish). ESP also will likely be Honduran mahogany rather than whatever "mahogany" E-II or Standards use.

Duncan with just the Seymour Duncan signature (in blue I assume) is likely a Seth Lover.

    Wes Hauch/Aaron Marshall "secret setup"

I'm not sure why shimming matters if there's still range to adjust the bridge up or down. If you're having trouble getting the action right without the strings too low to the upper frets, I would think that means the nut is too high.

I played one of the cheaper MIC LPCs a few days ago. It seemed to play really nice though I wasn't able to lower the action to where I really wanted it. They had the new non-graphic AJ Epiphone way up on the wall, and it looked great. I didn't ask to bring it down since I had no intention of...
