Just ordered a new carvin dc727!

Congratulations! I think you'll be quite pleased with the options you chose. I snagged a DC135 off ebay last year that had a maple neck and walnut wings. Not only does it look sexy, but it's got a very unique tone. Enjoy!

Carvin Experts: Lend me your knowledge before I jump in

Whoops, my bad man. I wasn't totally making it up, but it's not an option on the seven strings. If you configure an ST300, you'll see the options for the back I was referring to.

Carvin Experts: Lend me your knowledge before I jump in

I've never had Carvin 7 string, but I own two DC135's and love them. The option Carvin offers that makes me turn to them first is the tung oil finish on the back of the neck. I LOVE the feel of it. As far as the blackburst goes, they offer a couple options...if you configure one on their web...

    Agile Interceptor Pro 730

Silly me, using the site search. Why does it show up on Google and not when I search on the site? That's silliness.

    Agile Interceptor Pro 730

I searched and didn't find anything, so don't flame me if this is a repost, but I'm surprised there's not a thread that's on fire about this with all the long scale length junkies on here. Check it out...30" scale. Agile Interceptor Pro 730 EB Tribal Red Quilt Deposit for September 2010

    Agile Interceptor 727 Pro Silverburst

Drool worthy. I've never played an Agile, but I would probably buy that on reputation and looks alone.

    NGD+ - BC Rich JRV7, RGA8 and RGD2127 Grey PAFs..

Thanks for the tip. I've always been afraid to try something like that, for fear something might go horribly wrong, and I'll end up with an unplayable guitar. I always thought about actually sanding it though...the steel wool is a great idea.

    NGD+ - BC Rich JRV7, RGA8 and RGD2127 Grey PAFs..

I have a question about the B.C. Rich. I've been playing Carvins for a long time, for many reasons. One of those reasons is that you can get the neck just finished with tung oil instead of painted. I find this makes it much easier to slide up and down the neck compared with a gloss coat. This...

    Carvin DC727

You got lucky man. That guitar is beautiful, and they won't do it anymore. They specifically state on their site now that they will not do blackburst over white. I emailed asking why (with a link to this thread showing that it had been done before), and got a reply stating the they only did it a...

    Help identifying my guitar

 I actually did find a page on Jackson's site that allowed me to determine that it was made sometime between '87 and '89, but that's all I got.

    Help identifying my guitar

Yeah, it sounds pretty bright. I didn't really think about it until you asked, but I usually leave my tone knob turned all the way up, and this guitar doesn't even have one and sounds good to me.

    Help identifying my guitar

Okay, so when I moved recently, I found this guitar in my closet that I had almost forgotten that I had. I'd put it away after it took a knock and a couple of the toggles got snapped off. Well, last week, I decided to get it fixed because, hey, where the hell am I going to find another tiger...
