I got the E-II Arrow 7 today. It shipped from Illinois to Indiana, so was here overnight. Except for one small adjustment to the action to my preference, it plays like an ESP factory setup. The 66-7 and 57-7 pickups are great, similar to the 81x and 60x, but a touch spongier in a pleasant way...
As indicated above, if your nut is binding, changing it is a great idea. So if you are tuning and your strings make a "ping" sound, that means they are catching in the nut.
Really, smoothing out a burr in the nut where it is catching is the first step. If your nut continues to develop burrs...
Okay, bear with me... A co-worker from my last job and I decided to do a beer tasting video. We sampled 7 different craft beers from Quaff On brewery in Indiana.
B.C. RIch Warlocks are kinda X-shaped, but I also have a '95 Washburn Dime 333.
I would love to get an ESP Arrow or SV-II at some point, but they seem to have dropped the higher end seven stringers in those shapes.
I just can't. 54 for a B at 25.5 just feels too light to me. I cannot use light picks either. I don't want to brush the string, I want to feel the strings when I hit them.
.059 for a B at 25.5" is okay. .059 for Bb at 26.5" is okay too. I gotta move up to 11-64 to go down to A though.
Most Schecters, at least any that do not say USA-made, are made at WMIC (World Music Instruments Corp) in Korea.
WMIC makes the overwhelming majority of Korean-made guitars that are available in the US market, and have since at least 1990. Any Korean-made instrument in that price range is made...
Back in the day, when SW still used green screen in the guitar photo rooms, an Absinthe Frost Jackson King V made it through photography and the photos got uploaded.
The only things visible were the tuners, nut, strings, pickups, bridge, toggle switch, and strap buttons. It was kind of...
It was important and significant being that it was an early adopter to 7 strings and was one of the earliest neck through seven stringers, though production of the USA BCR models were fairly limited. It was one of the seven strings that was always an out-of-reach dream guitar. I have yet to ever...
Stouts at Brew Link in Plainfield, Indiana tonight... Nutter Butter peanut butter stout, Ivory oatmeal stout, S'mores stout, and Double-O (Oreo) milk stout... good stuff for a stout flight.
I have a really funky signal chain on one of my boards.
Russian Pickle fuzz (first in signal chain, to react w/ passive pickups and it has sagged voltage from the Pedal Power 2)
VHT Valvulator buffer -> Strobostomp HD tuner -> ISP Decimator II input (detection)
Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe
Dunlop...
Speakers may make a difference. Smaller diameter speakers with a more powerful magnet might make it feel like the amp is controlling airflow more accurately. I know that my 2x8 ported cab feels way tighter and faster than any of my cabs w 12s, at the expense of deep low end.
