Hey, I'm still thinking about getting the 11 Rack, but I'm wondering a few things

-Is the expansion a requirement to use the stand-alone software? If so, is it possible to buy the expansion pack for a used 11 Rack that doesn't have it?
-How is it for playing live? I've heard people complain about it in this regard.
