Not to revive a dead thread... but I found something cool with this.
I think the missing piece to this tone is the Peavey Supreme 160. I know a lot of the older death metal bands used these amps, as well as those old Crate amps.
What I am hearing dude is this.....
Guitars are a little loud, but maybe adding a limiter to the overall drum track will bring those up a little more.
Brighten up the over all mix as well.
One of the biggest things I have learned in my short time producing is that guitars are nothing...
We are a five piece groove metal band from Seattle, WA.

We are currently working on an E.P. and should be releasing it here soon.
I think that I am going to try to find an old Titan or something like that. Those amps were badass. I just bought a Roland GP-8 yesterday, and it is a stereo unit.
I figured I can run stereo into my RM100, and the Titan, then use my G Major in both loops too...
Hopefully it will sound badass.
Hey everyone. I was wondering what you guys think of this mix. To me the guitars are sounding a little muddy but I don't know. I am my own worst critic.
Any ways could you guys listen to this and tell me what you would do?

Hey thanks man, I really appreciate it. I am reworking these tracks into a 6 Song E.P. and trying my hardest to make them sound spot on you know.
Are you in a band in the area?
Hey everyone, I have been a member here for awhile now and I have seen a lot of great musicians on and off of this forum. I have learned a lot from the vets here and I would really appreciate it if you guys would take a look at my band and listen to our pre-pro tracks that I have put up...
Congrats man, I love Randall amps. I have a RM100 with the Treadplate, Plexi, and KH1 in it. Best amp I have ever played and on top of that it is MIDI controllable.
I used to have a R200SC (I think that was the model) and it was bad ass. I paid 100 for it and it was worth every penny. I used...
There is so much crap that I still need to pickup for my rig.
*A head/10 space rack case
*2x GCX Switchers
* Two rack drawers
* Power conditioner
* Ground Control Pro
* Mesa Boogie 2:90 Power Amp
* EH Sitar Swami
* 4 or 5 more custom pedals (i am a pedal whore)
* ISP Subwoofer
Hey everyone. I know this is the go to place here for getting some great advice on mixing and mastering.
Currently my band Dirge Era, is working on an EP. We have a few songs posted on Sound Cloud that are just premixed recordings. I like the overall tone I am getting with my signal chain...
I know he uses NI Guitar Rig 4 or 5. They should have a signature set from him. I remember seeing a video of him and his guitar rig and when we was playing into the program I remember seeing the cut shots and it was just his guitar/interface/guitar rig 5. Now what he was using is beyond me...
Hey everyone. I was wondering what your guy's opinions are regarding playing live with a backing track. I know some people wouldn't even fathom this but here is my predicament...
No one in my area is willing to keep up with what we are playing, we have a lot of intricate tempo and rhythm shifts...
I like the tone in the beginning. I am really starting to hate the Djent tones and movement that is out there. I like what you have done and the tone is not to Djenty.
The tone at section of the song where it goes into 16th notes that tone sucks, no offense. Back off of the gain a lot.
If you...
