Actually the tech said that he spoke with Ibanez themselves and they were the ones who told them that it would be impossible to balance the bridge with the heavier gauge strings. TBH I don't really mind, I've been considering hardtailing the guitar anyway so having it done for me under warranty...
TL;DR
Don't buy any guitar with the zero point system in it if you want to use any string gauge lower or higher than the stock 10-58.
Several months ago I bought an Ibanez RG927QM that came with the Edge Zero II bridge featuring the Zero Point System (ZPS3Fe). Basically what the system is...
Yeah before I bought it I was googling the crap out of the model and every result and review was for the red one. Maybe the blue is only in Canada or something?
Actually I bought this one at the Markham location, although I would never get my guitar serviced there again. The guy who set it up had the trem bridge set all the way forward and 1 of the strings jumped out after a couple days... Also the man absolutely refused to give me a free set of strings...
Got this baby about a month ago but only registered here recently so... glam shots! :D
The pickups are nice but definitely not the greatest... I like my pickups to have lots of tone and with these ones the neck pickup is not quite "round" or "bubbly" enough and the bridge is not bright enough...
