Thanks for your experience narad.
With the acoustic tone comment I'm just referring to how in nearly every Aristides thread and every review video I've found someone always remarks on "dude it's so loud!".
I think I understand what you're saying about that T0 sounding smooth/round in that...
I would love to hear the perceptions of Aristides owners (of any model, not just ERGs) of the general tone characteristics of Aristides instruments. Talking about the amplified tone, not the acoustic tone which I know is supposed to be remarkable, but for the purposes of this thread I'm just...
Yeah I had forgotten about that actually. They used to make a perfect 12 TET fretboard, which is what I would be interested in. Since the Thidell formula is all they offer now it might be a stupid choice for me.
It's not that hard to hear. If you can tune your guitar decently by ear I bet you can hear it easily. I mean, there are probably few guitarists who have been playing more than a few years and haven't noticed how out the open B string is with the 4th fret of the G if you tune all the open strings...
TT actually makes a ready-made fingerboard with TT frets already installed for 26.5-28 inch multiscale, which makes me at least able to fantasize that someone would be willing to build such an instrument.
Anyone know of a builder who would do (and has experience doing) a multi-scale 8 string with true temperament frets and a floating trem (and headless ideally)? Been looking into this for a couple years and the guitar just does not exist in the production world. There's Aristedes, but no TT frets...
I understand the trade offs with tension, pitch, and string thickness but I wasn't sure about intonation specifically. I don't want to buy a 28 and realize I can't adjust the saddle far enough to intonate my lowest string for some tuning I want (lowest I would possible want is C1). That's why I...
Hello friends. What is the lowest note that will intonate properly at a scale length of 28 inches? Is there a formula or calculator I can use to figure out this question for other lengths in the future? Thank you.
A lot of people claim otherwise but I never know if maybe they just don't know how to set up a floating trem properly. I know there were complaints about metal quality in some of the trems which is a concern with the knife edge wearing over time. I don't really go crazy on the trem but I would...
