Hey man- just ran across your old thread about looking for maple boards. I go to my local Rockler woodworking store (or maybe Woodcraft) and they have them plain maple 3" x 24" x 1/4" for cheap. I'm sure they have an online counterpart (they're a chain) and you could find stuff there. I'm in Wisconsin so I know maple (plain and figured) and walnut and the like are common here, but it's worth a shot. Cheers! -
