(sic) is an awesome song. Since your down tuning I would suggest an 11 gauge thats what I use.

Yeah you can play korn on a 6 string some of their songs need the 7 string, but I've played blind,did my time,faget and many others on my 6 string you mainly need a whammy pedal w/your guitar so you can get the weird effects down. I think slipknot would be a good band to learn on a 6 string so would iron maiden.

Thats awesome I basically wanted to play when I first heard slayer I was amazed with the guitar skills of kerry and jeff thats what made me pick up my 6 string hearing Korn in '93 got me into the 7 string.

Yeah slipknot now thats a good band to practice to good choice.
I've been playing for 5 years I still try to learn as much as I can but with school and my job I dont practice as much as I'd like.

Hey bro welcome I read the thread you posted and as for the guitar Im self taught I learned to read tab when I got a Korn book thats what got me started any beginner dvd might help by the way thats a sick guitar.
