I'd experimented a little bit with playing dynamics but find it very hard. I had hoped for a quick fix with a pedal :)
A better way to go then a pedal if I want to keep the tone?
Hi everybody,
Hope you can help me out. I use an Orange Dark Terror I love for its overdriven sound. For some songs I need to switch back and forth to a clean sound and the Dark Terror doesnt have a switch for that. I am now trying it with a Boss sd-1 but am not liking the results because the...
Skipped through it an really liked what I heard! Will give this a good listen tonight. Thanks man, all the best to you and your band in making this EP a succes!
But I'm not quite sure which one I need. The Schecter website only says: "Controls Volume (Push-Pull)/3-Way Switch". How do I know I pick the right one?
I recently bought a KM-7 and the volume pot crackles. I see this happens a lot and should be an easy replacement. However I'm not savvy at these types of things. Can anybody point me to the type/brand of pot I need to purchase to replace it with? Thanks!
May I recommend the instrumental version of I Declare War's Songs for the Sick? For me instrumental versions always allow me to focus more on the structure of the song, which you might find helpful in songwriting.
Very thorough response, thanks a lot. I will sit down for this during the weekend.
What I do realise because of your reply: the pattern that causes the cramp is 3-5-7, indeed at the lower register. On top of that I'm playing it on my new Schecter KM-7 with a 26.5" neck, instead of the Gibson...
Sounds interesting but I'm having troubling grasping what you exactly mean. Pivot the entire hand and fingers from where the thumb is anchored? So the thumb stays in one place and the rest moves in a sort of circular motion?
Thanks. Regarding thumb position I tend to do what feels natural (I'd say close to blues position) but, in order to reach the frets needed, I shift to the classical postion. Due to volume I was already playing unplugged frequently, so I will keep doing that.
But even then my reach and control...
Thanks for the reply. I've read up on tendinits and carpel tunnel syndrome by playing guitar and have chosen an approach similar to you suggestion: incorporating in for short periods of time.
After observing my legato technique more closely I found out that the main problem is the pull-off...
Recently I started technique training from the ground up using the lessons from shredtraining.com (great stuff btw). I learned my legato technique just plain sucks and very underdeveloped. The hard part is that my fretting hand cramps up fast, has limited reach (esp. wide 3 note per string...
Hi all,
Besides work, family and a new study I don't have the time to really improve my playing the coming years. That's ok, I'll stick with it for now. What I do want to play around with is writing songs and recording them. I am not aming at being a pro in any way, just for fun and some...
