I utilize the Feardse method of bass, where you split up the low end and the top end for greater control.

Otherwise, it's the Fender Rock P-bass. Low end has a compressor and a bit of eq dialing out some low mids.
I'm running Ampeg SVX for the main tone however. Heavy dialing out of the low mids on that plugin.

Top end has TSE 808 boosting it, and a compressor. Boost in the 8k region.


That's about it really. It definitely depends and varies project to project.

Well Cold Sweat are more like Miracle Mans than Aftermaths as CS and MM both share the scooped midrange. I always think it like that CS and MM (which I actually put in the same category when considering pups) are more like classic and 'safer' than Aftermaths as when buying a mid boosted pups you really want to have that overly saturated mid range in there.

When it comes to LF and CL, I really can't tell objectively. LF/CL combo offers many possibilities from rock to extreme metal. They (AFAIK) share even more scooped mids than Miracle Mans do and are not as saturated. I like to keep both of the sets available, plus then I have the old Petrucci signature set that are awesome as well. Anyhow, what I do like is all of my pups, and Miracle Mans are nothing, but a great add to the list. I suggest it if you want more saturated and overall metal sound that's easily shapeable.

Yeah, I just shipped it off to a member here.

Basically I didn't need two 7s at the time. I thought I'd keep the K7 just to have a 7 but I don't even use that guitar either. Guess I'm just not a 7 string guy.
