So I found a guitar that I might like with a HSH config and string through. Im guessing it is a custom shop guitar made in 2003 since the serial is CH032xxx (cant see the rest). Am I right to guess it is a custom order? Not sure what it is worth though.
So I went with a brushed nickel calibrated pair of Rebel Yells. Will see this weekend how they sound through an amp. I think they look tits :agreed: Thanks Nick - Axe Palace!!
I occasionaly have a gig that I need to plug into a PA with my various pedals (M9, Pork Loin, Dr Swamp, etc) and need something like an amp/cabinet simulator, preferably around $100 I have thought about the Tech21 character pedals like the Blonde or British, or an R3FX Cabinet Simulator in a...
The X2N7 is quite overpowering and doesnt balance well with the AN7. I dont play any djenty material with a band anymore so... I think I have decided to put a pair of Rebel Yells in my RG2127x but Im not sure what would look best in it. Covered Black? Covered Brushed Nickel? Reverse Zebra...
Good to know. Id like to try one out and see. Ive only been able to find the Max Grip Jazz III in the regular(small) size here in Japan. Are they made in the XL series at all? I only use the Jazz III XL Series myself.
They pretty much rape you in Japan for repairs. From what I found its approx 315 for refret, +100 if you want Jim Dunlop frets, +80-100 for fret leveling, +10 for changing strings then +42 for a final setup. A little negotiation should get all of that within sane pricing. This is from...
I heard the same from some other people too so Ill ditch this neck. Fortunately I have two of these Model 3 necks. The other seems straight but has some dings and such on the back. I would prefer to get a new neck but have not been able to find anyone that makes an 80`s Charvel replacement.
I had some new parts in storage for the past 18 years (carvin floyd rose, gotoh tuners, emg 89-sa-sa etc). So I bought a used 87 Charvel Model 3 body and neck for about $60 and put everything together. Now, I absolutely love the feel of this neck. The bad thing is that there is a slight...
Ive found good use for this Marshall pedal RG-1 that has two types of chorus, flanger, phaser, step phaser and vibe, since it doesnt take up alot of space and I never really need to use more that one of those effects at a time. The problem is that when I use flange, phaser or step phaser there...
I recently bought a cheap body, seems its a Charvel stamped with CDS-45, looks like a Model 3. Person I bought it from said it had a 24 fret 25.5 scale neck on it originally so I threw on a 25.5 Charvel neck I had laying around and a LFR bridge on it. The thing is it will not intonate at...
I have a Warmoth body I bought about 15 years ago that is routed for a floyd and has some small guide holes that need to be drilled larger to accept the bushings for the posts. The thing is that I dont have any tools whatsoever in my tiny apartment and was wondering if there were any screw into...
Adrian Smith - Iron Maiden really influenced me alot from 80-85 and I think I preferred Adrian`s style the most back then. Hetfield - RTL blew me away in 84 The Edge Greg Hetson - I pretty much devoured every Bad Religion / Circle Jerks album , just loved playing those songs. Vernon Reid -...
My RG2127 needs a refret, there is about 60% left. So I checked about 5 or 6 shops in and around Tokyo and they all are charging between $300 and $450 US for a refret, often adding an additional $50 for stainless steel JD frets. Ive never paid for a refret but that seems a bit steep :nuts...
Is it wrong of me to hope you are right? Some people are definitely wired different. With tv and internet though that kind of news just seems like there is more and more of those things going on. I have a feeling that kind of evil has been going on for centuries. Pisses me off every time I...
I occasionally will hop into the ESP crafthouse in Shibuya and see what they have. I have tried out the M-Seven that they have going for about $2500. It played OK but I couldn't see what justified that price at all. IMHO that guitar is about $1500 too expensive.
I use one sometimes depending on the amps. I dont own an amp so it is always random what amp Ill be using in the rehearsal studio. The ZW-44 through a boogie .50 cal sounded very nice but through a JC-120 sounded like dogshit ( no real surprise). I saw a video with Zakk from some Guitar...
