Thanks for the kudos! I do have every intention of tuning it to lute tuning. I had thought that the shorter scale would require a hard tension set of strings, but discovered on first stringing it up that with the traditional wooden pegs I was not happy with the amount of effort required to get...

Hell, I BUILT one!

I loved Cheap Trick's song Mandocello so much that when I started building instruments a mandocello was one of the first things I built!

I used to work on Northern Exposure, with Rob Morrow, who co-starred with Jack Nicholson in The Bucket List, Nicholson co-starred with Kevin Bacon in A Few Good Men. 3 degrees to Kevin Bacon! Any one else?

Thanks Tom, I think it turned out pretty well. It's got a 28" scale on the bass side, 24" on the treble. Walnut neck, maple board,tung oil finish. The body is alder with poplar wings, to save some weight. Walnut cap, with a maple center stripe. Hand wound the humbucker, hand fabbed the aluminum...
