I have no idea why this is bothering me so bad, but I'm really curious about some of these guys' live PA setups. I see set-ups with 8 rack cases and 6-10 power amps in each one to power the system. How are these guys splitting the power THAT many times? Unless I'm missing something (I'm...
This thing has got to be the currently most debated piece of gear ever. If you have free rack space I'd personally say fill the rack first. The stompbox offers added control in terms of being able to turn it on and off while playing, but I don't see this as something you'd want to turn off...
Here's the link to the file. MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service If I knew how to post a virus scan I would but I honestly don't and it's honestly not a virus anyways.
So, I got my boss Rc-3 in the mail today. Fun pedal. It says it can play .wav's and while I got some to work, this particular one that I'm wanting on it keeps giving me the UF error. If any of you can help me troubleshoot this, I'd be super grateful. If not then, hey, enjoy the free bass...
As stated. I will only be using this to power sub drops live and maybe to run a bass drum trigger to an EQ as a preamp. We play some under-prepared venues sometimes, to say the least. I'm looking for a power amp that won't break my bank, but will suit what I need it for. That is, if something...
Got a licensed Floyd. Changed my strings with something holding the bridge up so that it wouldn't get messed up. I got all of my strings on, but when I locked it down, tuned, and removed the stuff holding it up, it went all out of tune. I expected this. Now that I'm tuning it, though, the...
Super strange considering even if it was the locking saddles, I'd assume it would be one saddle went bad therefore only one string popping out. The fact that they're all being pulled out, and as stated are not actually breaking, is really baffling me.
If you're practicing and you need to use distortion, pull your gain back and push your mid up high. It'll show mistakes if you're making them. Also metronomeonline.com has been a solid lifesaver for me when I'm sitting on the computer and also wanting to practice a run.
The more effort you put in, the more appealing results you'll get. I saved my life away to get my dream gear, and with good maintenance, I'll never have to upgrade again. A lot of musicians I've worked with have been fond of "placeholder" gear to get them by until they can upgrade to the really...
This. If you must do this (I still wouldn't recommend it) lay the speakers out in a diagonal format. I'd say top left - bottom right but that might just be the reader in me. As silly as it sounds, I'd also strongly suggest mounting two speakers in the open spaces, disconnected. The not...
It's all personal flavor. But last summer on tour (I was in Seattle) and I saw a kid who had purple tolex, an acrylic area behind the "5150" and star wars action figures laid out like a battle scene inside. All lit up with neon purple and white LED's. Tears of joy.
A new tube set very well COULD help cleans be cleaner, but it would also have an effect on your overdriven channels. Lowering the gain most probably, unless the new set completely trumped the old set in terms of quality. If you're not worried about that at all, I'd suggest getting a low gain...
This MXR 10 band is going for 98 dollars right now new... and if it's solid enough to have all of you guys recommending it, then I might as well go ahead and get my boner pants on. I'll give it a whirl on this order and I'm sure I'll post some feedback up. Thanks for the help guys.
Thank you for the suggestions guys. I will be checking all of this out. I guess I should have stated a lot more than I did haha. My main issue with my E.Q. is that it's not transparent. It's actually quite hummy even through a decimator and I think it's something weird/electrical problem...
Rack or pedal. Don't care. I have a Phonix 30 band and it's overkill for a guitar rig. I play through a Vader 4x12, 6505+, Agile Interceptor Pro if it helps. Been in the market for a new one and want to hear what you guys have to say! :shred:
