Yeah I'm surprised at what people are using too, I'm using a 10-72 set for drop G on a 25.4". I have been walking the size down with each string change lately to see what the lightest gauge I can use is while staying nicely tensioned but right now the 72 is just nice. I dont think there's any...
I used EB Slinky's for majority of my playing life before taking a hiatus. Coming back in to serious playing again last year I started using D'addario NYXL/XT's and they are decent, haven't had any string breaks or poor performance though when it gets real hot and humid here and just playing...
100% dont do it before the gig. In fact you're even better off to do it after the gig to see if she turns up late, or displays any of the other issues you've mentioned and have the discussion after the gig while the behavior is fresh and its not like you're pulling issues out of thin air.
You already know the answer buddy. As they say, "You're only as strong as the weakest link" and this appears to be an extremely weak link. The singer can have two reactions to valid, majority agreed issues; 1 - Change her attitude, be professional and move forward together. 2 - Hit the bricks...
The Caparison is Mahogany body, one piece Maple neck with Ebony board. I had the same guitar back around 2004/2005 with EMG's and I absolutely loved it, I saw this one pop up on the 'Verb and jumped straight on it. There's a couple of FX Dellingers and Horus that I have my eye on too, I pretty...
I have a Regius 7 Core V24 with Lundgren M7's, fantastic guitar and plays very well. I have an E-II ST-1 which is no where near the same level as either the Mayones or my Caparison. It had a neck pocket too deep to the point that the Floyd sat so low in the trem cavity it couldn't be properly...
Well the clarification is in, they are NS on my Mayones. It was a mid 2018 order when SS were the option not the standard. Credit to the guy at Mayones too, I had a reply in less than 12 hours and the full order spec sheet too.
I do all my Nickel guitars 2 or 3 times a year depending on how they are but I just routinely do a full strip down, fret polish, fingerboard scrub/oil etc. and just go through the same motions with the Mayones. Its been a horridly humid summer and I dont have A/C in my house so the sweat has...
Yeah I dont feel any difference between my Caparison nickel frets and my Mayones SS frets. I polish my frets maybe 3 times a year regardless and I've never had them be overly tarnished or feel rough
It's a shame because from what I've experienced of them they're fantastic guitars but the NA pricing on them is insanely inflated IMO, especially the used market. The same seems to be the case with Aviator guitars which I admittedly haven't had a chance to try and would love to but its hard to...
Wow, I'm surprised at this. I've owned a lot of ESP's over the years and I couldn't say any of them compared to my Mayones for build quality, not to say they were bad but definitely not to the same level. Oddly enough I've also recently been using BKP pickups in place of the EMG's I'd used...
