There's an OR15 up for sale on a local site and it's so tempting... It's quite a lot of money for me, still - but it just was my birthday, so I might treat myself? As far as actually buying things, finally got a Reaper license after leeching off the free trial for so long and got the Amplitube...
With the companies being together now, I'm kinda surprised Mesa didn't poach him from... whatever's left of Randall. Like, are they even alive enough to contest it? I guess it would collide with KEA-related marketing from Gibson, tho.
Never played one - but just talking about the shape, I feel like I always liked it more on bass than on guitar for whatever reason. Like Firebird/Thunderbird.
Nice demo, but (not a complaint, more of a suggestion) since Rockerverb is kind of a benchmark in the shootout, personally it would be cool to see a short segment where you compare other amps with it. As in RV-OR-RV-OR/RV-TH-RV-TH rather than only going through all three in order. Especially...
Yeah, that's fair. But I guess on a personal level they still miss me. Tin Man ain't my thing completely and I don't vibe with the thick colored bevels in Burgundy (or some Jackson Vs, for example). Still - a step in a right direction, I guess?
I probably should've mentioned I'm not from the US. Kinda limits my options. That Kramer looks like an interesting option. Thomann doesn't have it, but I'll check local stores later. I don't expect any on the used market anywhere near me tho, so I'd have to look for a new one as well. And yeah...
Just curious, since some stuff I've looked at made me wonder about the shape. (BTW, I mean the symmetrical ones and not Rhodes derivatives) It's just me thinking out loud, since I have other things I'm more interested in getting right now. Was thinking around $400, so nothing special. Might be...
Same here. I'm mostly using a mobile connection. Turning the adblock app (DNS66, which acts as a VPN to block hosts) off seems to do the job for now, but I'm unsure if it won't block me again because I could enter for a bit yesterday as well before it stopped working again.
Funnily that he mentions Sabbath, saying they tuned one step lower than them because he got that turned around - they tuned to D for Thingy on the album, while IIRC Iommi tuned to C# on later releases with Ozzy. But yeah, I assume he's misremembering because it was so long ago and he played it...
Noob question - looked at a few tabs and they're in D. I assume they play it live a step lower than on album? Didn't know they were doing it even back then.
AmpleBass has a free version, but said free version doesn't have the whole fretboard. I believe it has the full range when talking just notes, but doesn't have the variations - so for example if you wanted to play an E octave higher, it won't play on 12th fret of the E string, but instead on 2nd...
Seen people speculating that he might be referring to LiveNation - who got a big shot of Saudi money a while ago (bought $500m in shares). He refuses to comment any more, so the chances of him clarifying are slim.
I don't care for him or his bands, am not that much into superstrats, the glittery flower (which looks more like rose?) looks cheesy... ...but somehow it's really appealing.
