Tech/groove metal band in Atlanta, GA looking for a vocalist. We're looking to play local and regional shows and lots of recording. https://soundcloud.com/ifmachinesspokeinriddles/the-fire-through-the-trees
My band recently recorded one of our songs in the hope that it would help us find a vocalist. We also wanted to take the opportunity to work on some of our sounds. The performances here aren't perfect, but hopefully it's solid enough for everyone to hear what we're trying to do tone wise. We...
I had a profile 4 for a few years back in the early 2000s. I absolutely loved mine, the solid maple body gave it a good presence without losing that growl. The neck is definitely fatter than most I've played, but I tend to like chunkier necks and it worked for me. It's a very particular sound...
I run my AxeFX2 into a Rockerverb and Orange 412 and I use a dual amp patch where one has the PA bypassed and the other does not. Then I just mix them until the feel is where I want it. Lots of tweaking to taste for sure, but it's worked as a starting point for a few patches I really like.
I used to run a sonic maximizer on my dual rec, and ended up ditching it because it sounded harsh and wasnt terribly flexible. I've also used an aural exciter on the mesa rig, a rockerverb rig, and engl rig and always liked the sound in moderation. Granted, it may be just an EQ, but it's an EQ I...
If you happen to have another G12T75 laying around, you might be able to pair it with one of the Vintage 30s, depending on the load of the speakers. It's a killer combo, I used it in an Orange 412 with an e530 running into the 50w 6v6 power section of a Rockerverb and it slayed. A good tube...
I just bought a new AxeFx2 and sold all my amps and preamps... except my Rockerverb and matching 412. That amp will never go anywhere. By itself, it's a beast. Add the right boost and it's a demonic beast, and just the power section makes any other preamp sound better to my ears.
You could probably get an older roughed up 1960A for about $300, and grab a couple V30s for a little more. Run them in an X pattern with the stock T75s. It will slay. Plus you can sell the extra T75s and recoup a little cash.
Everyone in my band writes code to some degree or other. I'm a UI engineer for a big data security company, and lots of folks I work with also play music. Go figure.
