I was at that show. The last day of the tour. Half of the reason I went was to see if Al could play it lol. The vocalist on his own is a beast and sings perfectly.
B.O.D 2.0 is amazing and honestly is pretty much all you need for metal bass tones, but if you want to use an actual amp try out SHB-1 from Audio Plug-Ins. Just download some impulses of bass cabs from somewhere. Or grab Pod Farm, it's got a pretty good sansamp on it and the amps are pretty good...
Here's my attempt: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/45084039/song%20thang.mp3 All my mixes recently have this same 200 hz problem and a weird midrange in the guitars, I have no clue what I'm doing wrong. The guitars were cali diamond plate in pod farm with tons of post processing, tons of tiny...
Does the gauge + tension chart on Circle K's website apply to the guitar strings or just the bass strings? How do I calculate Circle K tension tension otherwise?
^ At least you got to see Al play. When I went it was the last day of the tour and they said Al was sick, so they just played the backing track. I mainly went for the faceless, but I wanted to see Al play at least. They were still pretty good. The vocalist was practically pitch perfect.
If there's no bass to boost, make a channel with each tom that has a sine wave at the frequency you want in the tom, and pan them the same as the toms. Put a sidechain gate on each channel with the respective toms as input and set the threshold so it only plays the sine wave when the tom is...
he's not going to stop torrenting lol. just tell him to go to shows and buy merch, that way he gets something physical for his money and supports the band even more. nobody wants to buy something that they can easily get for free like that unless they have that close of a sentimental attachment...
If it isn't a blast beat, just make the kick do the same things as the guitar and put the snare on either 3, 2+4, or every beat depending on the tempo.
