    Build your own USB Guitar

Its actually pretty easy depending on your guitar. I dont think it would cost much. If your willing to do the drilling(hey! it rhymes) then you just need to find someone to do the rewiring. You could probably get it doen for free if you have a nice friend willing to help out.

yeah, I managed to find some importers down south...I hope they dont overcharge, otherwise I'll have to wait till I move to canada where the wood should be easier to get

Thanks guys for the input. I just have to source the wood which will be the difficult part. Turns out I have most of the tools lying around. Hope they work though. My guitar teacher says he can put me in touch with some luthiers except they mostly make acoustics and not electrics, but...

yeah it is pretty big I guess, but I measured the guitar from head to toe using the cad blueprints and the guitar isnt as big as I expected it would be in real life. Which is good because I was wondering how I'd take it around...

yeah, oops i accidently moved the center line... I would extend the control cavity, but I figured keeping them seperate would be neater. For one, the wireless device is on the output line and its positioning makes it closer to the output panel. Secondly, I'm a little paranoid about the...

The latest blueprints are on my blog at dhruvg.wordpress.com. I redid the headstock a bit. I thought about the ESP thing, but I felt it a little cliche. I wanted it to be a little more sword like in nature. on another note, I just got a scholarship of CA$7500!!!! woohoo!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: Redesigned the headstock for straighter strings. Its angled less and is a little flatter at the curves. I'll take care of spacing once I start building, since I'll get a better idea then. and as for the body, I always wanted a big V shaped guitar. I love big guitars

Thanks Ooh thats a beautiful V...I wonder how I missed that one...I love the looks of all caparison bodies but the clock inlays and devils tail headtock kinda throw me off...but if someone would buy me a horus:D As for tone, I think I'lll stick with alder and maple unless someone can tell...

I could redesign it but I that would change the whole thing quite a bit. Besides, I havent had too many tuning problems, and it'll be tilted back so I think that does decrease the need for a straight-pull(correct me if im mistaken though...im still a noobie) and I shall commence finding...

I redid the spacing to more suit a strat-style guitar like my current kramer, so i dont think that should be too much of a problem. As for thinness, I could make it a bit wider, but a blackmachine and parker fly both look to have similiar headstocks and manage to sustain the tension. But...

Wider? I'll try it out. And to everyone, thanks for the input. This is going to be my first build so to make it perfect I want everything as perfect as possible in the preplanning. I guess its ambitious for a beginner(?), but I got 6+ months to kill so I can go slow. LOL, i hadnt heard of...

EDIT: Minor update. Shape changed to be more like an RR. Tuner spaced out a bit more and routing shown in magenta. Just drawing up some scaled blueprints of a guitar I plan to build if and when I get the time and space to do it. What do you guys think? Body: Alder Finish: Black...

    Blackout 7s

Just ordered a pair of blackouts for my warlock 6 string. Can't wait till they arrive to replace the BDSM pickups.

    Help with Strings

I need a little string help for my guitar. I've got EB kinny Top Heavy Bottoms(10-52) on my six string, but I have a mixed 10s/11s set for my 7 string. On the bass end, the gauges are just too light. I found dean markley 2504c (10-52 + 60) online and I was about to order them but Sam Ash...

    Blackout 7s

Any idea how much of a difference in sound there will be between the six string and the seven string versions? Planning to get some of the 6s for my warlock and the 7s for my kramer.

Yeah, I think I'll try and get a new amp...this fender frontman 15W amp really isn't able to handle the low end...

    Pickup advice

Install it yet? What are the cleans like and does it sound good distorted? And(gasps for air), how much did it cost? On another note, these are the best stock pickups I've played! I turned the tone knob half way down and its brutal...maybe I'll just save up for a good amp first..

    Pickup advice

well EMGs are out of the question and I can't try out any of the pickups before buying cus there are so few 7 string players over here. Any particular models for what I'm looking for? I'm thinking either a pair of D'activators or a tone-zone+an evolution
