In Desperate Need of Attention: Myspace

Thanks alot for your help, everyone. You gave some really constructive advice. I didn't mean that all people on Myspace are wierdos. I've had some bad experiences with classified ads in musician newpapers and such, and I just figured Myspace would be viewable to a whole lot more volume of...

In Desperate Need of Attention: Myspace

Yeah, I understand that now, but HOW do I go about by promoting on Myspace? Do I just ask thousands of random people to be Friends? I need some very specific suggestions because I work two jobs and don't have the time to be on the computer for large amounts of time. I haven't been able to...

In Desperate Need of Attention: Myspace

So I just finished my new CD after about 8 months of work, and I figured "I'll just post and promote my music on Myspace, do nothing, and get millions upon millions of screaming fans". Well, after about a month, I still have about the same number of friends and nobody's screaming other than me...

    Vetta 2 and Variax Acoustic

I currently own a Line 6 HD 147 which I am very pleased with, especially with the convenience of the XLR direct outputs for gigs. I also own a Variax Acoustic and would love to to be able to plug all of my guitars into one rig for easy switching. I know that the Vetta has a Variax input, but...

    FS: JCM 800 2204

1984 Marshall JCM 800 2204 50 watt /w horizontal inputs for sale. I am saving up for my dream amp, a VHT Deliverance, and my HD 147 covers all the studio stuff I do. I am at least the second owner of this amplifier. I purchased this at a small music store in New Jersey that I teach at. The amp...

    VHT Deliverance...

Anybody try one? The sound clips I've heard are amazing, but they were mainly all bluesy/old school rockish clips. Unearth uses them as well, so they must be able to cover a wide spectrum of tones. One channel amp, no effects loop, 60 and 120 watt versions, Sovtek power tubes. The following...

KT88 vs EL34: Volume knob cleanup

Let's say I have a one channel head (which I do), and I roll back the volume knob for my clean sound. Which of these two tubes types would clean up better? My educated guess would be that the KT88's would clean up better since the EL34's have more breakup. Thanks for any help.

250k or 500k pots for SD JB?

    Thanks alot for your help

250k or 500k pots for SD JB?

Also, if my volume pots are going to be 500k, what should the tone knobs be? Would they be the same or different?

250k or 500k pots for SD JB?

Really stupid questions, but will the pickups come with the 500k pots or will I need to buy them separately? I already ordered my pickup set. If not, what manufacturer for the pots do you guys recommend?

250k or 500k pots for SD JB?

I'm switching the pickups in my '90 Les Paul Standard from EMG 81 and 85 to a Seymour Duncan JB (bridge) and Jazz (neck). I'm hearing from quite a few people that alot of Les Paul players prefer the 250k pots compared to the standard 500k so that the highs are less shrill and are more even with...

    Voodoo CP-100 mod or other?

I've been looking at Splawn mods as well. Can they achieve modern amps sounds, though? It seems like this amp mostly appeals to the 80's metal crowd, and that's not really the sound I'm looking for. According to the website, however, the mod with the KT88 power tubes achieves a modern high...

    Voodoo CP-100 mod or other?

Voodoo CP-100 mod or other? I have a JCM 800 2204 that I have been considering getting modified by Voodoo amps. I was set on the CP-100 with an effects loop... until I called the shop and found out they would not have room in the amp to install the effect loop since the CP mod pretty much...

    KRANKAMPS ?

I listened to the soundclips on their site and was pretty set on getting a Revolution... until I tried one. You can get a lot of different sounds out of the high gain channel, but most of them are really brittle and harsh. I was able to get a decent sound by practically rolling the Sweep knob...

    22-fret Ibanez 7's?

I heard those guys are switching to 7-strings. Any idea what brand they are going to use?

    22-fret Ibanez 7's?

Sorry, I should've been more specific. Has anybody seen a 22 fret RG 7-string?

    22-fret Ibanez 7's?

I totally prefer 22 frets to 24. It's more of the fact that I grew up playing 22 fret guitars and I'm used to them more than anything else. Has anybody seen a 22-fret Ibanez 7-string? Totally unrelated question: How does someone have access to buy a famous guitar player's guitar, for example...

    PRS 7-string

I was browsing through prsguitars.com, and I stumbled upon this guitar in their Private Stock section. I had heard rumors that they occasionally make 7's but that they are very expensive. Thought I'd show it to you guys as well. Here are the specs according to the site: PRS 24-fret Seven...

    Elijah Blue LP Custom 7?

I've heard that Elijah Blue (Greg Allman's son) had a Gibson Les Paul Custom 7-string made. Does anybody have any pics of this particular guitar or any other custom made Gibson LP 7's. No Epiphones, please. Thanks.

    EMG 707 Volume Cleanup

"I'm assuming by 'buzzy' you mean a bright, harsh kind of sound? Like the ass end drops out of it?" That's exactly what I mean. Will that only happen with the 81 and 81-7 since these two pickups are known for having more high and and less bass than EMG's other pickups, or do all EMG pickups...
