The closest they may sound to an EMG would be the EMG 85, which I think is the 707 for 7-strings. I have played many 6 string pickups, and the only thing coming to mind is the EMG 85 just not as sterile/cold sounding, much fuller/warmer. The only 7 string pickups I have used besides these were...
Well both my D-Sonic-7 and my X2N-7 arrived yesterday, I just finished installing them. I played with them for about 30 minutes, first impressions the X2N-7 sounds great in the bridge. I wired them up the same Schecter wires their guitars, 5-way toggle bridge, bridge coil tap, neck and...
It sounds good, I believe it is SD version of a PAF pickup. The '59 is the neck pickup that Dimebag Darrell used. The cleans are good, they are currently in my Schecter C-7 Blacjack. When playing clean though I tend to coil tap both pickups, the tone is awesome that way. I am not sure on...
I am selling one Seymour Duncan JB-7 and one Seymour Duncan 59-7. Both pickups are in excellent condition, and even still have the plastic over the pole pieces. They have maybe 3-4 hours of playing time through them. I am selling as I just placed an order for another set of pickups. They...
Thanks for the post, I just ordered one of each now to sell my SD JB, and SD 59, obviously both seven string versions. I plan on putting the X2N-7 in the bridge and the D-Sonic-7 in the neck, should be interesting.
I have had one for about a year and a half, very good amp. My Schecter C-7 Blackjack sounds better through it than any of my other guitars, but they all sound really good.
I looked into that it does not appear so, which makes me still think it is the 26.5" scale, if really looks like if the pickup was moved down or up 1/2" to an 1" it would align properly.
Jason said he emailed Schecter about it, so I am not sure, I think it honestly is because of the extended scale, 26.5" is an odd length. To fix the issue the neck pickup would need to be lowered most likely more as a middle pickup then a neck pickup. I am returning mine because it sounds...
The 007 note definition isn't anywhere near as clear as that of the C7, when playing the big B the tone on the C7 is nice and tight, with good amount of thickness, the 007 is the opposite it is much more bassy, but sounds loose. The 007 is also heavier than the C7, just goes to show you the...
After playing the C7 Blackjack it sounds way better than the 007 Blackjack, I hope Jason will allow me to return it as I am really disappointed with the 007 Blackjack.
Hmmm, I just got a C7 Blackjack today from Musicians Friend(I forgot to cancel the order), it too has the same issue with the string and pole spacing. It must be the neck pickup is f spaced. I wonder why they put these in it rather than a normal spaced pickup?
I posted this in another thread, but do not want to hijack it. Anyways I just got a Schecter 007 Blackjack and am having the problem as described in the title. The link below shows the problem, just add the h to the beginning, since I can't post links yet. To me it looks like the bridge was...
Looks like I placed an order right before you, so you did get the last one. If I knew he had SIT's I would have gotten them put on. I received my 007 Blackjack today and can confirm it is no longer offered, it is NOT in Schecter's 2006 product catalog. I am not sure what to think of the...
