^well i recently got it back from my tech and i think it's a huge improvement over the old bar system. It doesn't come loose at all and i like the shape of this bar better.
thanks for all your help you guys. I called up my tech and he said the way my guitar is set up it should be able to take 9-52 with no problem at all. So i just finished restringing it, the nut is locked, it's tuned perfectly and everything. The action is possibly better than before... i had to...
ah... i'd really have to adjust the truss rod tension? I didn't think that'd be necessary because i'm lightening the tension of the strings, so i wouldn't think the neck would need to be pulled back like it would if you changed to a higher guage. In that case i might just stick with the 10's...
i was actually looking at that particular carvin before i went out hunting for a new 7. Hehe... i came across a real nice Peavey Wolfgang that played like a dream and i had to have it :shred:. So I'm back to square one on saving for my next 7 :agreed:
since i bought my wolfgang, i've recently really felt a lot more comfortable w/ 9-42 guage than i ever did w/ 10-52. So i've been thinking... why don't I restring my UV w/ D'Addario XL7 9's. As great as this would be i have some qualms about doing it. i know i would have to completely reset the...
i do that when dickin' around at practice. :agreed: Anyway... So I took it into my tech today, he's gonna mod it up good so it fits perfectly and whatnot and he's gonna bend the bar up for me. Also... i needed the jack replaced so he's doin' that for me as well, god i can't wait to get my...
^ya it only came with one screw length, and i don't exactly have another allen screw lying around. Suppose i could use a different screw, but then again i still want to get the bar bent up.
if any of you have seen the tutorial for modifying your jem or uv trem to accomodate a screw in bar instead of a push in one, over at jemsite: (http://www.jemsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34038&highlight=tutorial+trem) i've decided to perform this mod because i really hate the push in...
there's actually a custom shop fender 7 at the local guitar shop near my house. I'll go in and take a pic next time i go in there... which should be soon as i'm going to try out the Mesa Nomad 100w head they have in there.
