nice find! I don't mind the K-7 inlay. Practically speaking, it IS the model number after all. That gray color/shade/whatever scheme is awesome! I have a paf-7 in the bridge of my rg7321, and can vouch for it's coolness:cool:
installed the paf7 last night.... it doesn't have as much output as the stock 7321's mushy, muddy, bridge pickup but, this pickup is nice!!! it has loads of clarity and no wah sound to it!! Its amazing, what an extremely clean pickup does when it's distorted.
resident 7-string noob here... I am amazed with the drop A (AEADGBE)<---I think this is what it's called. I may go lower in the future, maybe a whole step down. (GDGCFAD) The rg7321 has more chunk than any of my sixxers. I have a .070 for the 7th string (I had my dad drill the tuner shaft...
here's my dillema... I need a low output pickup for the bridge. I like to start with clean and clear tones with a tight attack especially on the low "b", then add boost/distortion. I know the duncan pickup requires pole piece modification to fit. And, I'm not really biased...
I used to be a shredder...(admittedly, not really lighting speed fast although)...I was into vai, satriani, dream theater... then I was into the blues... bb king, srv etc... then the seattle sound came to be. Initially I was resistant, but later warmed up to nirvana, stp, smashing...
just got my 7321 out of layaway (woohoo!!!)... the action needs adjustment (thinking of buying a new nut), the tuners have a bit of backlash (may replace those later after I'm sick of retuning) and the bridge pickup is flabby nasty mudd. Anyone know why this pickup is so terrible? Could it be...
