Hi there I'm in the market for my first bass for home (metal) recording purposes. I currently have a loaner GIO Ibby but since I've had it for a year I feel that the time is up... Anyway I've ran across a used Ibby SRT900DX in mint condition for a decent price. Specs seem great for my...
Yes, a lot of people think it is blasphemy, especially since Baloff is not on this album. I don't share this opinion but I still think the original is a better experience. The new version is soundwise on a different level (originally recorded in -85) but the energy and enthusiasm of the original...
The best thing is to try to learn a song by listening to it and try to play what you hear. This way your ear will connect to your instrument. However this can be very time consuming and a tab will be a quicker way. But instead of getting a tab book get Guitar Pro or some other tab software for...
For me Gary is the undisputed heavy weight world champion of (thrash) metal. Great songs, great riffs, great chops, great song variety, great to watch live. Sorry for the derail. I just had to take this chance since Gary/Exodus doesn't get recognized enough imho. Slayer is good also.
I think I read somewhere back in the day that the reason the solos on Seasons... stand out from most other Slayer solos is that Kerry took the music to his former guitar teacher to get some help with fitting scales and arrangements.
Check out Scarpoint's The Mask of Sanity. Killer album :hbang: Not too difficult either but I don't think you'll find any tabs so you will have to do all the hard work yourself.
Thanks man, I've been thinking of taking up legato for some time but never really got to it. This lesson put me over the edge though. Getting the timing right is really hard but to my ashtonishment I had no trouble at all with un-anchoring my index finger :-) I will check out your other lessons...
Hi there Been lusting for a Jackson V for as long as I can remember. Owned an Ibby V in my teens (which is a couple and then some decades ago ) but never got around to getting the real thing...Lately I've had increasing GAS for a Jackson V though. However here in Europe the KV2 goes for...
Hard to believe but the Swedish national television is broadcasting the whole big four set in Gothenburg live right now. Six hours of metal straight! Pretty good way of spending a lazy sunday afternoon in your couch. Slayer is up next. Broderick's sig Jackson looked awesome btw
This is a very good advice. There are also MP3 players that capable of slowing down music to a certain extent before it gets too distorted. I think that the trick is to not choose a song that is way beyond one's capabilities. That will most likely just build frustration.
Great song :yesway:! I think that the drums are a little overpowering. At least through my headphones (Koss PortaPro). And regarding the transition (or lack of it) at 2:40 I actually think that it works as it is but it depends on what feeling you are trying to put across. keep up the good...
