I do - see my little review on page 3 of this thread though now I have to bring it to tech. It`s blowing the fuse - probably I`ll need a fresh set of power tubes.
You can`t go wrong with V30`s. Some people like to mix them with T75`s but I`m not fan of these speakers. K100`s are not as scooped and have nice and clear low end.
I have both 4x12 (Marshall MF400) and 2x12 (Zilla Fatboy) and if my 4x12 was as tight, clear and articulate as my 2x12, I wouldn`t bother with 2x12. The volume difference is minimal (if there is any) and the sound projection is better.
I would recommend rather ENGL Pro cabinet than the Standard one. I played 6505 through ENGL Pro 2x12 (with V30) and I liked what I heard a lot. V60 has less mids and treble and I found it muddier in the lows comparing to V30. Since you`re from UK what about Zilla cabs? I have a 2x12 Fatboy and...
+1 JMP MKII is an awesome amp and would give you the sound you`re looking for. I played a 2204 from 1979 (vertical 2-hole) and wouldn`t mind to own one.
What Invader`s channel is Morse`s 3rd channel based on? I`m quite intrigued by the MIDI matrix and I`m contemplating to sell my Invader to get the Morse. But since channel 3 and 4 are qiute different, I`m wondering which one they chose for Morse. I love the tight bass of channel 3 but I`d like...
Marshall MF400. I wanted to try K100s. But the sound was too scooped. So I changed 2 of them for V30s. I put them in X-pattern first but soon I moved the second one to top as well. It was better but still not good enough. So I sold the remaining pair of K100s and currently I`m playing just...
@ JP Universe : Are the Invader settings in pictures your real settings? I`m curious about the CH3 especially. Because I have to keep the bass and depth punch knobs all the way down. Otherwise the sound is too boomy/bassy. ... but maybe it`s just my cab
I have it. It was my first tube piece of gear. It`s a nice preamp. Although it is officially 3 channel preamp where channel 2 and 3 are sharing the EQ, it`s basically just two channel preamp - clean & lead. Rhythm channel is too bassy to be usable. Clean is ok, nothing to write home about but it...
It`s a great amp. Different from Invader. Cleans are really nice. Not as warm as Invader`s but still nice. A little bit of chorus and delay together with on-board reverb and I`m set. The loop is not as transparent as Invader`s but the difference is really really small. It stays clean longer than...
Thanks for pointing that out. Actually with 4x K100 it indeed sounded quite scooped, so I switched 2 of them for V30 and the results were better but still not good enough. So I sold those 2 remaining K100 and I kept V30 only. Now I`m thinking about to pull the trigger for Orange 4x12.
Congrats! It looks gorgeous! Being it a bolt-on - how do you find the neck joint comparing to Regius? Is it as smooth or the body wood is getting in your way to the higher frets?
Unfortunately the chrome plate is not a great platform for the decals or whatever is ENGL using. The letters are wearing off way too easily. My Invader misses its name, "Power" and "Stand by" already. @JP Universe How is Invader getting along with your cab? I have a Marshall MF400 which is...
