you should check out Trilian by Spectrasonics its sampled bass and it sounds incredible. I use it on my stuff SoundClick artist: Constellations - page with MP3 music downloads with very little eq on the bass at all
I use an M-audio keystation 61 as my controller and it does pretty much everything i need it to. It doesn't have all the fancy faders though. As for synths I just use Kontakt, the stuff that comes with Cubase, and Reason for everything.
Yeah I'd say if you don't mind working with VST then go with the UX2. I just got a podx3 and while i love it to death I could still see myself getting the same mix out of a UX2 with pod farm.
I think the guitar track is played pretty well. One thing that stands out is the drums are way too low in the mix. You gotta compress and eq the kick and the snare and then limit them to bring them up in the mix, cause right now i can barely hear the kick and the guitars are all over them
Yeah this is really not bad at all. Definitely needs a bass guitar, but I like your overall drum sound with the mix. One thing though you might want to lower the mids on the rhythm guitars a little bit if you want to fit other stuff (leads/vocals) over it, but the tone is really good. Once...
Listened to Periphery and Chimp Spanner a shitload this past couple weeks and this is what came out of me. What do you think of the mix? Guitar tones? It's all with the Pod and Superior 2.0 with Metal Foundry. Bass is Trillian VST. song is 17/16 SoundClick artist: Constellations - page...
Been listening to new Chimp Spanner and Periphery alot lately so i decided to put together some ambient progressive stuff and this is what happened. Check it out song is 17/16, like the ending of it, and my house number http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=1041603
Yah i got mine at Best Buy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Periphery+[Import]+[4/20]+-+CD/9845815.p?id=2096173&skuId=9845815&st=periphery&lp=4&cp=1 Genre: Pop??
Honestly until you get absolutely pro equipment EQ will be your best friend. and even then, pros use EQ on every instrument in the mix. I can guarentee that KSE's tone is EQd to shit before you hear whats on the record. btw good song :)
It does sound a little like Mikee from Sikth. Idk im not a good judge on screams they sounded okay. sorry though spence still has you beat lol. good job though!
Thanks man. I'm using Superior Drummer 2.0 with the Metal Foundry expansion. Its mostly the DW collectors kit i think and then i put loads of eq on all the pieces of the kit. if you have any questions just let me know.
i used the 57 off axis. no i didnt layer its just two tracks one left one right i think thats how he does it too. he has alot of low end and mid on his tone. its very defining and comes through anything.
Maybe its cause I am marc! no but for real it was just big bottom amp with treadplate cab low gain and a tubescreamer before it and then it was a shitload of eq in cubase before it sounded like his tone tbh. his mids are outrageous
Okay this took a little bit to tab out but this song is fucking amazing so I decided to cover it. Let me know what you think Thanks and enjoy http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=1041603 Song is Resistance by Veil of Maya off of [id]
