Hullo, e'erybody! I've got a PRS SE Paul Allender signature, with a number of wonderful upgrades. one thing I've not yet swapped out, however, is the termolo springs. Does anyone have a preferred location or website, for the acquisition of good springs? (And possibly the screws for the claw...
Bonjour, hola, aloha, hello! I'm currently buying a brass nut off o' eBay, that is pre-spaced and has the right width for this neck and everything. The thing I'm not too sure about, is whether the height will be usable with these frets on this guitar (too tall, perhaps.) So, I ask of...
So, in other words-- the reason they can do a passive/active switch on basses, at least, is because they need the battery anyways for the boost halves of the EQ/Vol knobs? And wouldn't be able to do it otherwise, really?
Greetings, all! I was on the You-Toobz a few days ago, watching the (awesome) demo of the Seymour Duncan Perpetual Burn pickup, on the Carvin JB200c. One of the things I noticed, on the subtext of the video, was that they switched it from active to passive and back, using the same pickup. I...
Yes, I'll go to my Best Fiend's house ;) I'll have to think about a place to go for itbut it's a good suggestion. On the same outlet theory, I can say that I have tested this out with the power strip I have available, as well as without. Still get the hum.
Hullo, all! So, I've been getting some hum in the background of any high gain distortion setting I have been using. Let me run down the list so far, of things I've tested... Multiple guitars All of my cables Multiple individual pedals Multiple power adapters for these pedals Both a...
So, turns out everyone was right! (Except for the hate on guitar techs. When you find a good one, they're worth keeping in your contacts.) It was the lack of a ground to the bridge. He drilled a tiny little hole between the control cavity and the trem spring area, and soldered it down--woosh...
Greetings, all~ I recently had a guitar tech swap out my pickups in a guitar, from EMG's to a couple of wonderful Seymour Duncan passives (Black Winter neck, Alt 8 bridge) I also had him totally swap out the wiring harness, to this: one Master Volume (push/pull coil tap both pickups) one...
Aaaaanyone at all? I can kinda figure out volume and pup toggle, but I have no idea how I'd get the coil tap and series/parallel to work in conjunction.
Well then, that seems to be the decision made! Does anyone happen to have a wiring diagram, for 2 Seymour Duncan humbuckers, a push/pull coil tap for both pups (volume), a series/parallel switch, and a three way toggle? lol
Greetings, fellow Earth-folk! I'm gonna have a friend solder me a wiring harness in a couple weeks, and also ask him to install passive humbuckers on a guitar of mine--replacing EMGs. A thought came to mind, recently, that I really seldom use the tone knob on any of my guitars, really. So...
Both build and sound quality, really. Originally when I asked the question, I was kind of thinking the top would be just a bit deeper than 4mm. But that aside, a complete mahogany body, and a mahogany body/maple top, do sound drastically different. Depending on the thickness of the top, as well...
Does anyone happen to know, the price point at which Ibanez' figured tops are actually figured tops, and not just veneer?I know with PRS it's pretty much SE vs. USA made, I'm just unsure of the breaking point for Ibanez. Many thanks shall be given to whomever can help. Maybe even a hug...
Does anyone have a recommendation for a site to buy BKPs, or a few BKPs to recommend the checking out of? I'm not really aware of any of the names they label 'em with, or their specs.
Unfortunately, a lot of the liquifire demos I've heard are a bit too dark, and not smooth or bright enough. Strangely enough, this even happens on Ibanez guitars, maple necked/fretboarded and what I'm assuming is a basswood body.
