I hand drew mine and it's very messy! I'll have a look-see. The way to work it is with a lot of "jump" cables between contacts on a superswitch, so each point of each pickup can be earthed or go to hot. With Dimarzios in "standard polarity" from earth to hot in series operation it goes...
With a "single coil" on a 500k the vol doesn't drop. It makes it louder and brighter, a 250k suits the sound better (hence strats and teles have 250ks) Whenever I have coils out of phase to me it sounds terrible, some like it though. Wouldn't bother with it as a wiring option. To do that...
Gear/Guitar Wanted: DiMarzio Evolution Neck and DiMarzio Air Classic Neck, Crunch Lab or D sonic Additional Accessories (hardshell case etc): Funny colours/covers welcome but no trad zebra or cream please. Your Location (City,State or City,Country): Leeds, UK International OK?: Yep, shipping's...
DiMarzio Area 58. I have it in the middle of my strat and it does that clangy in pos 3, quacky in pos 4 thing a treat, added bonus of being hum-cancelling. If you want it to deal with being on 500k controls, stick a 500k metal film resistor between your switch contact (the bit you'd solder the...
I've been wondering about these, whether they're a half-arsed pretend prestige or a genuine step between the indo/korea/whatevers and jap models. Good to see such praise.
I would say for the chopper and FT2 go with 500k volume. A nice little wiring trick I recently learnt (and performed on my strat) is to get a fixed metal film resistor as close as you can to 500k and put it between your middle pickup's switch contact and ground. It makes it so that your...
Gutted man. Just remember righty tighty, lefty loosy. So as you're looking at the truss rod nut, clockwise'll tighten it, anti-clockwise'll loosen it (you should be able to feel from the tension as you go). If it's bowing back you'll need to loosen it so the strings win the tug of war a bit more!
Love 'em. Got a purple CE22 second hand. I don't think I'd buy one new and I don't rate really tight figured maple (so cheaper tops actually look better to me - convenient) just because the pricing's crazy, but they're seriously, SERIOUSLY good guitars. Got serious lust for CU24 in Angry Larry...
I did some reading up on mylespaul.com last night and many of the folk on there rate them alongside several gibbos (and some of the spec is actually better!)
Okay so as a backstory, I've never liked LPs lookwise and couldn't see myself wanting one..... http://static.music123.com/derivates/19/001/296/231/DV020_Jpg_Jumbo_518078.jpg I *REALLY* want one of these. Should I worry? I hear the build quality of the Elitists was superb, it's got no...
Almost certainly by the sounds of it mate. Don't go too drastic with the truss rod. Little increments, leave it to rest, little increments.... and so on.
