Welp... Good Saturday Afternoon!! Sorry for the lack of updates... paint takes FOREVER to dry and set between sanding's... But regardless... progress has been made. The "R" logo finally came in yesterday... so that has now been placed on the HS and clear has finally been laid to finish...
Boo... don't throw the towel in yet!! What are you "ideally" looking for in an 8? I see the problems in the OP... but could it just of been a lemon you got initially? I know that will turn tastes sour rather quickly, but that IMO not a reason to just say "fvck it...". By personal...
THAT IT!! "Hun... pack your s#it... were moving in with your parents!" Its a cross between the biohazard symbol and the holy trinity... at least from where im sitting... Dude... it DOESNT get cleaner than that! That's actually too clean
Sill though, to get that from what was originally covered in paint!! I had that on a GIO 4 string Ibby bass... sanded it down... saw a really nice grain pattern... and stained it instead of paint. I still have pics in my gallery... IMO... the stripes are a nice touch... if there wasn't a...
That is awesome to see such a huge multi lam body!! I was on the Area51 site last night  HNGD for you!! I need to find an RG8 / RGA8 / Ibanez 8 string neck by itself... So if anyone happens across one please hit me up!!
Welp... Per the SN... Your specific RGA8 was the 5,069th guitar off the line... Made May of 2012. iIRC... The guitar numbers dont differentiate between models... So the 5,068th guitar couldve been a 6 string RG... Or any other model... FWIW. Regardless... LOVE LOVE LOVE my RG8... Cant go...
That or its an '11... Post a pic of the entire SN... There is a ton of info on how to read the SN's on the interwebs... could be either! Depends on how may digits there are... BTW... HNGD!!
When did this go from "Everything After The Burial..." to "Turning you favorite metal band in to Luther Vandross..." thread??!!:lol::lol::lol::lol:
AAAAHAHAHAHAHA Welp... Start out with "To Carry You Away"... Follow it up with "Your Troubles Will Cease and Fortune Will Smile Upon You". And since shes not a "Virga" anymore... You can break out "Berzerker"... And to finish it up... A nice sampling of "Pi". See what i did there...
Right now ive kept the standard tuning... F#BEADGBE... Most of the material i try to play / my own writings do not use a higher tuned guitar... So i cannot accurately give a stance on that... Ive been going down to EAEADGBE... A "Drop D" tuning for the 7 string leaving the 8th at a "normal...
Ive been very surprised with an .80 for the low F#... Thick but still has the guitar playability. Maintains tension without a S#IT ton of buzz in the drop tunings. Ordered mine from Stringjoy.com... Custom made a set... The gauges are 10, 13.5, 17, 28, 38, 48, 62 & 80. So far kickin ass with them!!
As i 110% agree here... I want to clarify... I was hoping to convey in my previous post that ALL ATB material from beginning to end is nothing short of epic. I DO NOT have a favorite album or song i can singly be able to point out. Reason... EVERYTHING hits in one way or another. There is an...
Each album has a personality of its own!! In Dreams was the first album i grabbed of theirs... Excellent thru and thru. "My Fraility", "Your Troubles Will Cease..." are wicked tracks. But to go from Rareform to Dig Deep... The best way to sum it all up... is that its always been true to ATB...
Necrobump... Awesome app! Maybe add an 8th string option? Regardless... Looking at the FB totally different now... In less than 30 mins playing in this app... Seeing, reading and applying the patterns now. Great job!!
Too bad your not closer JimF... Id help ya with refinishing your 7!!! Trying to see if this kind of work takes off for me... if theres a market for custom finishing... time will tell!!
Wait till you see what im doing on my tribute RG8!! I think the Lacoste alligator was awesome! Set him apart and you knew EXACTLY who was playing / who's instrument that was by the sheer color alone!! Like I said... just wait!! Need a couple parts to be delivered... then the awesomeness...
