You don't need internet to load files from a usb stick

If you keep a copy of your cabinet loader and impulse files on a usb stick, then save your settings as a preset and put that file on there too you can load it on your friend's pc easily. I do that between my pc and laptop. The Torpedo gear is great but far more expensive and honestly overkill...

What do you mean? Most studios will have impulse files, and if you talk to them i'm sure they'll allow you to bring your impulses with you on a usb drive to use
