    Ibanez 2024 NAMM

It's just a headless Sabre, lol Edit: Exactly. I swear that's exactly what the body is.

That's very surprising and crazy good.

Have string manufactures not caught on to the extended range market?

Even for B standard tuning on 7 strings, standard guitar string sets make no sense at all. The tensions are all over the place. The low string in a standard Ernie Ball set is a 56 which seems absurd to me, and the 59 in D'Addario sets is barely any better. I don't think either company even...

    Solar Guitars by Ola Englund

I bought my Solar used and it was already a couple of years old so presumably anything that would potentially happen to the fretboard already would have happened under the previous owner. I'm very happy with it for what I paid.

Upper fret bevels for Ibanez guitars?

You could do that very easily with a rasp as long as you take your time. All you have to do is figure out how far down each face of the guitar (top and side inside the horn) you want to bring the bevel, draw the contour you want on each off those faces, then use your rasp at an angle on the...

    NAM Pedal Coming?

Agreed. I have Tonex Max because it came with the big pedal and there isn't a single time I've ever chosen an IK profile over a user profile. As far as the software goes, the only thing that really matters to me is the unlimited access to user profiles.

    Tools for fretwork?

You could do that, but without leveling the frets, you won't have any kind of mechanical reference that ensures you're actually bringing them level in relation to all the other frets, if that makes sense. You would have to carefully take down a bit at a time and continually check with a fret...

    Tools for fretwork?

I did use a dremel, all I did was place the ruler on the fretboard and mark it with a sharpie though. The idea wasn't mine originally, I got it from a luthiery YouTube channel in a video about low cost or substitute tools. Other good ideas in there include using a level as a sanding beam.

    NGD: Ibanez RG752M-DY

Love that yellow. If it was mine I'd be pretty tempted to put a black pickguard on it and go 7 string RG550.

Sharing heavy / harsh / scream vocal bands with "normies"

In my personal experience, the number one reason that people who aren't familiar with music with harsh vocals say they can't or have never gotten into it, is that they can't understand the lyrics. The vocal topline is an extremely important component of music for people who aren't really "into"...

How to do this Finish? (Satin, raw feeling, natural colour & painted/stained...)

I also think it's pretty likely they use a dye or stain on that type of finish, rather than any kind of paint. Paint would have to be applied so thin that it would be hard to get good coverage, in order to not start filling in the grain texture and ruining the look. Apart from that, you probably...

    NGD Ibanez S621

Congrats, I feel the same way about the Nazgul. I tried it in my RG7 but it just didn't do it for me, I like the Pegasus much more.

    Solar Guitars by Ola Englund

I'm a lifelong Ibanez fanboy but the last two guitar I bought were a Solar and a Schecter and they're both collectively stealing my loyalty, especially at the price. In my opinion they're pretty much equivalent in terms of quality and specs for the money. Now if Schecter starts offering Evertune...

    Help navigating DiMarzio 7s

I honestly have no idea what to make of their EQ charts or marketing material in general. The only thing I consider decipherable is the relative output levels between pickups. I definitely wouldn't make any decisions based on the EQ charts as a main factor.

    Help navigating DiMarzio 7s

I have a set of Evolutions in my RG7 and a seto of Occult Classics in my Solar. Of those two, it sounds like the Occult Classics are more up your alley. I like them both a lot but the Evos have a huge amount of high end imo. Not enough to put me off by any means but you might be different...

Metal players who dont use a noise gate?

To be fair, Dime had a human noise gate in the form of a guitar tech backstage who would literally cut his signal by hand on rests, and I'm pretty sure Wylde currently employs the same guy, lol.
