i have 1,65 cm tall , small hands, but the improvement in tone that 28" scale does with the guitar is awesome.. here in Brazil we don't have the oportunity to test many guitars, but i can tell you, 27" for a 8 string will be the minimum for a good tone ...

i think 26.5" scales for 8 strings is not a good thing... 27" in my opinion will be the minimum... schecter also does the Omen with 25.5" scale, wich is an absurd... i am a jackson fanatic for 6 strings, but in 7-8 strings territory jackson can't get it right..

Try the EB Cobalt 10-64... it works fine for me in a 27" ibanez tuned Half down...
