I'll be honest, I love Portnoy's little online rants. Regardless of if they're stupid or not, the controversy that follows is always funny as mess. Probably wouldn't want to be friends with the guy though, he'd probably get angry I couldn't hang out with him and rant on the internet. :lol:

I've played on some kits around 500-700. They were fairly responsive but they were uncomfortable to play on. I'm not a drummer though, so my opinion doesn't mean much here.

I'll typically use my index and middle finger. I use my thumb for slapping/thumping and sometimes use my ring finger if I can't get going fast enough with my index and middle finger. I typically only play jazz on bass though, so don't go very fast very often.

I'm taking the songwriting course currently, and I love it. The instructor does bring up good points on what should go into a song, granted it is a more simple song writing class. I have no complaints. And I didn't even know about the composition class. Thanks for sharing that.

Okay, so the set came in today. It came in that cheap unsealed pack that will allow the strings to corrode if left in storage for too long. Not a big deal unless you decide to buy in bulk, and there is also the possibility to get a set already rusting if the distribute decides to ship an old...

I'm about to make the risk and buy a pack off amazon. If it IS fake, I'll only be losing like 9 dollars. I'll post back here on if the strings are legit or not.

I'm annoyed. You can already buy the 9 string set off of the EB website, but not the 8 string set. Is the set on amazon actually from EB or are we just being scammed there?
