Here's to hoping the website doesn't go down again.

    Running 120w head into a 60w cab.

I recommend getting a big boy 120w cab. :agreed: At bedroom levels, I'm sure you won't blow anything up as long as the Ohms match up, but I would lay off playing too loudly. Like I said, get a 120w cab when you get the chance. And as far as I know, the head wouldn't blow up. The cab might...

    Thinking of Quitting 7

To be fair, the 7 string did start in Jazz. I'm sure you can find a semihollow telecaster out there somewhere. (Probably custom made, but still)

    Tips for jamming?

Like MoshJosh said, get a song both of you enjoy and work towards covering it together. It gives meaning to that meaningless jam-session of chugging power chords. And play along with a drum machine and see if you can get something from that. If you can find inspiration from that, an actual...

Should I completely ditch down strokes for alternate picking?

I refuse to accept that this man is human. The way he plays he looks more like an android. As for everyone else. Thanks for all the feedback! I'll definitely begin improving my down-picking chops, because I really am terrible at it at this point. Alternate picking I'm pretty damn good though...

Do you have a bottle for me? I would love to have a bottle again.

Should I completely ditch down strokes for alternate picking?

If I ever use down-strokes purely for lead, smite me down. I am talking about rhythm guitar. LOL

Should I completely ditch down strokes for alternate picking?

The title may be a bit misleading, but this is a serious question. For months I've been playing using nothing but alternate picking, and I've noticed that many guitarists use nothing but alternate picking, but just as many use a mix of both alternate picking and down-strokes. So, the question...

    What's up with my fretboard?

I'm just a little baffled as to why the luthier decided to use a completely different piece of wood rather than the original piece. I don't know. The mind of a luthier is a strange, strange place. Edit: Also, happy HNGD man! Didn't notice that this was a recent trade.

    What's up with my fretboard?

It could just be how the wood is naturally colored, it could be a different piece of wood where the guy who was cutting the board ....ed up and glued a new wood in place. I doubt it will affect the performance of the guitar, and to be honest, it's stupidly difficult to even spot unless you're...

    Easy instrumentals/lead work

Go with On Impulse by Animals as Leaders. It's a nice song, but it's not stupidly difficult either. If anything, just work on the intro, because trust me, people will look at you like "Shit that guy is good."

    About fingerpicking...

A lot of books claim that using the pinky is improper technique and can get in the way. I personally believe whatever is most comfortable for you, go for it. Experiment, find what you like the most.

    Developing A Masterful Ear

As for intervals, I would suggest learning solfege. It helps you identify the intervals. It doesn't matter if you don't think you're a good singer, that's not the point here. I'm still not great at identifying intervals, but solfege has definitely improved my ability to hear intervals, and after...
