    Lye By Mistake

I agree. The new album rules. I enjoy them more without the singer i think. I think that they could do better with a different singer anyways. Their old singer seemed to hold them back IMO. He wasn't nearly as talented as the other members.

Ron Jarzombek "Oscillation Cycles" instructional DVD preview...

The reason why this twelve tone music is interesting is because it's not truly atonal. It's split into three separate diminished tonal units with the notes jumbled around. It's a cool concept. I can't wait for this DVD, Ron is a rhythmic genius.

    New Spawn of Possession video

I wish there was more quality footage of this band out there, this rocks. It seems like most of it is just crappy bootlegs and stuff. The highest quality stuff i've seen of people playing their music is the RiversOfGore covers. Thanks for the link. More coming soon.:hbang:

    Summer Slaughter last night

I agree that the thrash and burn tour only has two bands worth seeing. Veil of Maya and Periphery are gonna be sick.

    Looking for some Classical.

This question needs to be more specific. Are you looking for stuff from the classical period? Or just "art" music. I could offer a lot of suggestions but it's important to know what you are looking for. Do you appreciate atonal music? I guess just let me know what you want.

    All Shall Perish Appreciation Thread

I think the vocals are lame but the leads are pretty cool. Some interesting ideas, although I can hear a lot of Rusty licks in his playing. I kinda feel he should work on his own lead style a little more. Still excellent playing regardless.:shred:

    Tony MacAlpine rejoins PLANET X!!!

I agree wholeheartedly^^ It would have been sweet to hear Machacek out of his element a little bit and working with Planet X. Macalpine is great though. Heck all their guitar players have been.

    Metal bands with good lyrics

yea, I would say meshuggah lyrics are the pinnacle for me. Opeth i hold in high esteem as well. Both bands are lyrically superior to most metal IMO. If i wanna listen to lyrics i typically don't listen to too much metal. For me metal is more about the overall sound and music than the words.
