New Metallica: The Lords of Summer

Sounds a little underdeveloped to me, so it'll no doubt end up being cannibalised like New Song 1 and New Song 2 I imagine.

Soccer / Football - All things here :)

Can't believe people are talking about Arsenal as if they're out of the running for even the Europa. The media's gushing on about Liverpool's title credentials, yet Arsenal have been up there the whole season and are level on points with Liverpool, having played the same amount of games!

Soccer / Football - All things here :)

I must be the only person around that thinks that while Ibra meant it, it could have so easily been an airshot or booted out of the ground.

New Red Dwarf - Season 10

It's not as good, maybe it's the lack of comic timing and the canned laughter.

Bad habits you've developed from being a musician

Mine is not washing regularly. Well obviously I do, but if I'm doing a particularly heavy recording during the day or a gig that night, I'll wait until afterwards to wash!

    Adobe Audition

I was another user of Cool Edit back in the day, then I moved to Audition for a few years before discarding it when I went onto Mac and Logic. I still use Audition for cleanup and editing, as it's easy to use and a very neat and tidy program.

    Guilty Pleasure Bands?

Paramore I guess, since they're so sickly-sweet! I even covered them for DTD promo:

    Gigging Etiquette?

Make sure you tell the guitarist/bassist/drummer on before you that they did a "good set", even if you thought they were awful. Gets them offstage and onto the beer quicker!

Do the kind of Drum Pedals really affect speed/technique

Has he experimented with different tensions on the batter head, or with different amounts of pillows/sheets inside the kick? I don't play high-tempo double pedal, but I have improved my general skill at it by reducing the amount of rebound from the head, so it feels more like a pad.

Online drum tracks available - quick turnaround

Hey all, My name is Will Jones and I'm another one of these online drummers. The same goes with me like with most others - you get free demos and don't pay a thing till you're happy. This is suitable if you're a home recorder or are finding programmed drum tracks are holding back your...

    Click track and backing tracks.

I did something similar for a couple of gigs as part of a two-man project. All you need to do is to get a small mixer for the drummer, and plug the jack/XLR coming from the iPod/sampler into a mono input. He can then plug his earphones into it. The mixer will also double up as your drummer's...

    The dont's of live performance

Don't play new songs because they are new. The latest song you've written won't always be the best yet. Nurture the songs and do a demo of them first. There's nothing worse than having to stand through a band who are doing an open rehearsal.

    What do you guys think?

I'd tell him to replace his snare and tom heads as they looked pretty finished!

Snare dont make the snare sound anymore

Are the heads in good condition? The quality and tuning of the bottom head affects the sound more than you'd think.

Having a hard time finding other band members.

Have you thought about headhunting decent players in crap bands?

Seether plans 300 gigs in one year (2012)?

If they're not careful it could end up breaking the band, but if they're able to play enough places then they won't exhaust their fanbase. If they do manage to pull it off, that'll be fantastic though. What would they do instead, sit around?
