Logic and Reaper are both awesome DAWs, the only ones I use, personally. Neither one will steer you wrong.

Whoa, those settings... :ugh: if you're running a tubescreamer that's probably way too much gain and high-end.

Why not just use MIDI? Trying to program drums on a computer keyboard sounds like more trouble than it's worth.

Okay, let me get all the files organized and zipped up for you. The bass guitar in the first song I linked is MIDI based, as are the drums in both songs. Is that okay?

I can get you another song from that same band that has vocals, but the recordings aren't as up to snuff as I'd like them to be, it was recorded some time ago. You can do whatever you want with these songs, if you want them. As long as my name gets on there somewhere, you know.

Guitars are either mono or one mono recording copy and pasted. Playing itself could use some work overall. Bass guitar is inaudible.

I'll be honest, this doesn't sound much different than chango's basic kit with no fx on it whatsoever. Cymbals are very robotic but you only have 8 hits to work with ultimately. As Aceshighhhh said, a full mix is essential for context.

The mix is pretty solid overall, though I'm not particularly a fan of the sound of the kick. That's just my taste. I think the OHs and general mid-range sound acceptable. BTW I don't mean to glory hound but I frequent the sneap forum much more than this one, but I also recently remixed this...

Thanks for the tips! I'm saving up to buy overhead mics for actual cymbals, for the time being I have to stick with one-sample crap. Not sure of any good overheads though.
