If that were the case then all jacks would be 'input' jacks. Even XLR... There is always something getting plugged into something else. The direction of the signal determines whether it is in input or an output jack. shotgunn

The jack on your guitar is an OUTPUT jack not an INPUT jack. The signal is being sent out of the jack. The fact the the plug is being inserted INTO the guitar does not make it an input jack. I don't know what made me want to type this, but I did... I don't mean to ruffle anybody's...
