I've got the SSS version of this guitar, and it definitely had nut slot issues. Took it back to the local fender dealer and they filed the nut and now it's perfect. I absolutely LOVE this guitar, and it's one of the cheapest I own! (Just to clarify my fix a little - from the factory the nut...
I’ve got the Scarlett 18i8 and it covers all your requirements. I’ve been very happy with mine and had zero problems. Even have it connected through a USB switcher so I can swap between my Mac and PC.
I 100% agree with this. Don't waste your money on a modeller for home when you have a PC or laptop. I've also got a 50W 5153, and have gone through periods where I don't use it at all - just use plugins on the PC (my go-to is BiasFX 2 - but there's plenty out there, including freebies). I also...
One more opinion to add to the mix - I'd suggest if you have a recent iPad with a USB-C port - use that (I've used my older iPad with a lightning port too - but that requires more adapters). Just check that the Interface you want to use works on iPad. There's not as much variety of...
I can add another vote for Ormsby. The only headless or multi scale I've owned is my Ormsby Goliath GTR, but I tried out a couple of Standbergs in shops in the past. With Ormsby there's two ranges - the GTR production guitars built by World Music, and the hand built guitars. There's obviously a...
I TOTALLY understand this! I met Vai around the same time after somehow talking my way into being let up stage with him as part of a clinic. Was handed a JEM, shook his hand and then it was like "let's jam!". I was so stunned I basically couldn't play :)
Yes, I did get those number off DPC latency checker, plus other sources looking into the DPC latency. And while you are correct that DPC latency is higher on AMD CPUs, it so many orders of magnitude below where latency impacts audio that it's a non event.
That's total FUD. AMD Zen 2 has around 40ns extra latency at worst - that's 0.00004ms, so it's going to have exactly zero impact on audio latency. Zen 3, with the different CCX design will have more less latency, without the slower cross-CCX spikes that Zen 2 can get. Other Windows drivers will...
My vote would be for Mac. But if you must go Windows, I do like the Dell XPS laptops. I only do pretty basic recording, but I use my MacBook Pro for work (IT) and recording, and my high end Windows desktop for gaming only. My Windows PC has WAY more power than my MacBook, but for audio work...
