Yeah, that's Gibson for you though.

bare knuckle trilogy suite vs cobra

I like the Trilogy Suites a lot better than the YJMs. Big and boisterous. I have not played the Cobra.

FS ESP CS Horizon / 1982 Les Paul Custom / Washburn EC-29 / MIJ BC Rich Ironbird / Edwards Alexi Blacky / ESP CS Stef B8 / Jackson Warrior CS

Link fixed. Dunno why the "unfurl" doesn't work. As an aside, who would've guessed there are FIVE EC-29s on Reverb right now? As another aside, damn, you have great taste in guitars!

Gotoh trem GE1996T quality question. Is this normal?

My 7 is definitely not quite as nicely finished as my 6 is. They're about a year apart, so maybe this is a recent cost-cutting move?

Gotoh trem GE1996T quality question. Is this normal?

Yeah, they're definitely usually better than that. Looks like a QC miss.

Evan Rubinson running Dean Guitars into the ground

To be fair, they got Wayne Charvel involved as a CYA on this. That bridge is garbage, but otherwise they're cool guitars.

You need a DV8, too, to complete the set. Also a forklift, because those things are HUGE, double-Rhoads size.

Man, those are so cool. I should've bought one back when I was an endorser. HNGD!

    Jackson/Charvel/EVH 2024

The crackle Soloists are pretty much exact clones of USA SL1s with cheaper materials. The fretwork has been spot on, too. None of these things apply to the Indo X-Series Soloists, which tend to have frets that range from "good enough" to "nice to see they're employing the blind", and the neck...

    ASCAP or BMI?

BMI. I resigned from ASCAP because of their enabling the Spotify madness.

I was impressed with the X series Chinese crackles I played. The Pro Plus was fine, but very pricey and not as good as the Korean Charvels in the same price range IMO.

    Jackson/Charvel/EVH 2024

So, bored between appointments yesterday, I went into GC and spied a Titanium White SL3 on the wall, fresh out of the box last week. Fender seems to have fixed the issues with the first run, as this was pretty much flawless and played like butter. It kicked the shit out of the LP Standards next...

    NGD: 1985 Jackson Soloist

So, the funny thing is with those Jackson pickups is there's a brief window in '85 where they're quite good, and then they changed something and...they're not after that. Glad you got some of the good ones - although the J-50 is by far they best pickup they made, and I think Grover still makes...

"Student" specs knocked like $400 off the price, so it's understandable if you bought a finish that was an extra $600 IIRC.

Yeah, Crooks has one, but the guitar it's going on is in limbo. Sacsha from Helloween replaced the ABMs on his customs with Lockmeisters, though, because they apparently didn't hold up to tuning.

Did you see the new Hantung Floyd they're introducing? They do exactly that. I'm sure it will cost One Billion Dollars, though. </drevil>

Explain to me the Floyd Rose

This. It's finicky and varies from instrument to instrument, just like actual repairs. ;)
