Scale length is also a thing. I'd usually say try something 25.5" and 26.5" to see if the slightly longer scale bothers you (it bothers me.)

Yeah, going custom is a bad idea before you know what you want. There's so many 7 string options now that there's almost no point unless your some kind of weirdo like me that wants something no one makes.
