Hey guys, I have a new mix that I am looking to get some feedback on. It is available here: https://noxaeternum.bandcamp.com/ There is also a Slayer cover I re-released with a new mix. I decided to use two bass channels this time through and I think it really helps the thickness. Let...
Hey everyone. Nox Aeternum will be releasing a new album September 9th. Here is a preview track called "Children of Eucharist". Let me know what you think. Pre-orders are available as well if you are interested in a special cover and bonus tracks...
+1 Striborg. Speaking of Striborg has anyone seen the one-man metal documentary on youtube? They interview Striborg Leviathan and Xasthur. Which are two other band that I highly recommend from the US.
Thanks a lot man! If you like Nox Aeternum on Facebook I will keep you updated with my progress. Just have to put vocals on it and mix it now. Thanks for checking it out!
I agree with you. I love Dissection and Hypocrisy. There is certain melodic death metal that runs so close to black metal that you have to acknowledge how sweet it is. Have you ever heard Peter's black metal project The Abyss? The Abyss - Bless With The Wrath Of Evil - YouTube Or this...
I actually really like my SD-1 more than the screamers. Its like a less compressed tube screamer with a nice notch at 1k for that Jeff Waters Annihilator tone.:hbang: Just wish it didn't cut the lows as much.
:hbang:Yea man I feel the same way about my jcm 2000. That amp gets so much hate and I don't know why. It was 500 bucks and I can do more with it than I could with 10 other heads I've owned.
By boosting the mids on an EQ you will essentially do the same thing but in a more transparent way. An OD will add a subtle harshness to the high mids (around 1-4k) Sometimes this is desirable and sometimes not, but just want to make you aware.
I can't stress that enough. It is all subjective to the sound you are after. Hell I still have a metalzone pedal just in case I feel like covering a Dissection song one day....
My Oppinion - Get the DARK TERROR instead of the Recto. Orange amps - Mastodon, Kvelertak etc. Sounds like a Marshall but with more saturation out of the box and a little fuzzier in a good way (makes it good for doom too) Mesa Recto - Bought one and returned it within a week. I just...
You actually hit my point more clearly. When I am mixing I find that I actually like having some of the sub bass still in the guitars. And while I do see the value of overdrive pedals. I have done AB comparisons with different boosts and found that the EQ actually sounds better with my...
I hear where you are coming from. I used to use EQ and an OD-1 on the crunch channel of my jcm 2000 which surprisingly sounded pretty awesome for tight thrash riffs, but I think my taste has changed. I cant agree more with your second comment. I think its funny that AxeFx gives you control...
