I laid down a couple coats of kbc11 kandy apple red (house of kolor). don't listen to HOK tech support, if you spray over black the color will be waaaay too dark! Maybe if i put down a lot more paint i would get it to look good, but i don't have that much paint and it seems to be transparent so...
paint finally arrived. i will be painting within the next few days and will post pictures afterwards so Fastmerc (and others interested) can see the color compared to the js1200. BTW - while waiting for the paint i talked to someone at HOK about a base coat. They recommended shooting KBC11...

I didn't sand the headstock yet. My plan was was to do the body and if it's close enough just leave the headstock. I suspect i'll end up doing it though because there are some dings and the body is going to be completely redone so might as well just do the headstock too. It doesn't matter...
Yeah, i can pull it off...below one i did in the past (HOK vermillion neon). The more i think about it the more I think it's going to get HOK candy apple red.
What do you think I should do with this guitar. Someone painted over the original paint because there were blemishes and did a poor job. The applied paint was painstakingly removed to expose the original finish. I did a quick buff and the paint shines, but it's rough. So I've got a few options...
