Corey Taylor definitely used to rap Step up, fairy I guess it's time to bury your ass with the chrome Straight to the dome You heard that right, bitch, I didn't stutter If you know what's good - sit, shut up and beg, brother Backstab - Don't you know who you're dissin'? Side swipe - we...
While the facts behind tension and tone are all there and true I've found that people who play bass as their main instrument tend to like lighter tension than what is usually recommended. Alex Webster uses a 130 for a low Ab and while that's definitely on the extreme side I do actually really...
Did you experiment much with different scale lengths before landing on 26" or is it kind of an arbitrary number? What tuning and string gauges are you using with that? I think it's an interesting idea to adjust the scale length based on tuning. I'm always in the Drop C or Drop B range and I...
I guess this is a loose interpretation but early Opeth like Morningrise and My Arms, Your Hearse is more black metal than it is anything else IMO Some real good songs on both of those albums. I especially like April Ethereal off of My Arms, Your Hearse
I wouldn't recommend porting a DAW like that it'd probably be pretty buggy. I'm fairly certain Ardour would work tho. These are pretty standard DAW features. As for being portable maybe you could just export your metronome tracks as mp3 files and just have em ready to go on your phone. I...
Have you tried using a DAW like Logic or Ableton? I know for sure in Ableton I can easily program tempo and time signature changes to happen after X amount of bars or wherever you want them. It'd be like composing a song I'm not sure I completely understand subdividing the click but apparently...
My brother's band recorded 15 songs (80 minute cd) live drums, vocals, mic'd guitar cabs and bass in about 2 weeks for ~$5000 mixed and mastered and it sounds amazing. There's absolutely no way a solo album could cost more than that especially not even having to spend time micing shit up
self taught except for lessons from my brother who is also self taught  I think every beginner should have someone show them the proper way to fret, hold a pick, read tabs, and also some basic warm up exercises. That's all I think you need to teach yourself. I've found that I get better at...
Hey my brother is on tour right now he has a PRS Satin 22. I do tech and setup work for him so he hit me up to order him a new bridge for his PRS (I don't know what's wrong yet he was vague and hasn't gotten back to me) Looks like its gonna be $200+ for a brand new bridge from PRS. I found a...
Saw Tesseract open for Intronaut, Cult of Luna and Katatonia tonight. Awesome performance, made me a fan. The singer actually did a bit of the screams although the bass player held that down for most of it. Unfortunately the sound system at this venue wasn't great and they all ran direct which...
What I did was unwind the end of the string until I was able to get enough to grab on the other side and then I just sawed it back and forth until I didn't feel any resistance. Did this on locking tuners and it worked just fine. Haven't tried drilling so no comment on that.
