I used to run a boost. I ran a bodenhamer TS7 with my Fryette Deliverance as it was pretty organic sounding (later realised this had a lot to do with preamp tube choice). Later when I switched to a GP3 + 2/90/2 I realised it was adding way too much colour and compression. It tightened thinngs up...

Yeah the top cover gets pretty warm after awhile but fryette say it's normal. There are 6 12AX7's in it. That said I left a rack space above to help it out.

i had a mesa recto 2x12, sounded pretty thin vs the Fryette Fatbottom I have now. Not necessarily suggesting the latter, but the recto ain't that great.

Damn too bad they're a nice bit of gear. I hear of ultraleads coming up at guitar centre or whatever that place is called that does used gear, maybe keep an eye out for one and just buy it, youtube and sound clips give you a reasonable idea of the sound they deliver, if you like it then you'll...

That said, isn't $1200 a bit steep in the US for a GP3?

What kind of music do you play and what kind of sound do you like? Is the GP3 gain modded at all? I gain modded mine (rhythm and lead channels only I like the clean channel as it is) and pushed it a little further than the official mod from Fryette. I now no longer need a boost pedal for high...

Depends on your needs/personal taste I guess. In my opinion they aren't, compared to my deliverance it did not have as much gain or saturation. After the mod however, they sound about the same. Most of the ones you hear clips of (although rare) are gain modded. I don't play djent but this is a...

Its going to have to be a rack case of some sort to mount my newly acquired pre and power amp in. Just wish more stores actually stocked them so I could actually see it before purchase.

I am not totally sure tbh. Steve Fryette posted the mod up and I just followed that. I think it's just a mod to increase input signal voltage to the gain stage, effectively like turning the gain boost up to say 15 instead of 10. So happy - picked up the 2/90/2 today. It's barely had any...

Well I did the gain mod this afternoon. Just the lead channel, didn't touch the others at this stage. Holy f***nuts batman, it absolutely rips now :hbang:

For $500 an LTD Deluxe would be a great guitar they do play real nice for the money. Personally I find Ibanez prestige necks too thin, the ESP/LTD thin U neck is slightly thicker and works for me, you just gotta get out there and play different guitars until you find the one that feels right...
