Thanks guys...still the only concern is the somewhat low output...I swapped out the battery and lowered the pickup a bit, but it's still acting up a bit. Boosted sounds like it should, really mean, but even with the gain on 7 on my 6505 (which even with passives is just stupid), it doesn't...
Picked up the Viper 407 I found on CL today :shred: My first seven ever, shit's nuts. Sounds great, though the output is a little lacking, which is interesting. I tried lowering the bridge pickup as it was like right on the strings, but that didn't really help. Might need a new battery... the...
The couple times I've seen them with Kurt, they play stuff off Deathstar and Happiness, and sometimes if you're lucky they'll do Times New Roman. Just sayin'.
tempting, but I already told this dude I'm committed, he's holding it for me. I can try to help you sell it though, I've got some friends who might want a 7.
I had a Viper 400 for about a week and I've had my Ec1000 for a month or two now, and I'm really a fan. I've wanted a 7 string to dick around with for a while and get my xBREAKDOWNx on, and its only $350
There's a Viper 407 on CL for pretty cheap, with OHSC in new condition, should I do it? I'm trying to save up for a Mark V, but it seems like a pretty good price. What say you, SS?
Very much so. Their old stuff is more like old DGD/Emarosa. Their guitarist was Sean O'Sullivan who was the original guitarist and on Downtown Battle Mountain.
Maybe its just because there's way too many Craig wanna-be's here and in Sac...go search for the bands Look Alive, We're Not Friends Anymore, and Hello Sailor, amongst others. Everyone tries to do that crazy high, overindulgent "look at me I can sing kinda" voice that Johnny popularized. Also...
Johnny Craig has the most fucking annoying voice ever. Kurt = superior. The music is way better on the new albums too. Consider the Thief > DGD > Emarosa
I owned a Viper 400 for about 10 seconds, but I played the fuck out of it while i had it, I currently own an EC1000 and I've recorded with several LTD 300-400 models. I can vouch that its a killer guitar, not just for the price. Sounds great, plays grea, and I really like the ESP neck profiles...
