NEW VIDEO SHRED THIS TOO W MARCO SFOGLI

Oh hell, with or without the blood sugar problem you out-shred many of us (read, ME). Really nice stuff and it's great to see someone with those chops who also has the sense to know when to pour on the speed and when to back off and just bend the hell out of a note. Frankly, that is something...

Behringer XM8500: Anyone have recorded samples?

All this talk in the microphone thread and in reviews of how great the XM8500 is compared to the SM58 considering the price has got me wondering if anyone has done any recording with one and has a sample. Anyone can to provide something they recorded with said mic along with what gear they...

    New Mix: Thank you Turd85

Yeah, still needs a lot of work but it's getting better and is a huge step in the right direction.

    New Mix: Thank you Turd85

The mighty Turd85 put me onto a good bass tone in Trilogy and I slung this little chunkity-chunk together to test out a patch, Trilogy and DFH together. Even though it ain't perfect, it's by far my best result yet. SoundClick artist: Nothing Good Here - page with MP3 music downloads Hmmm...

Testing out new bass tone! (Podxt, S2.0, BK painkillers)

Dude, a million thank yous. I just recorded a quick little chunkity-chunk and basically ripped off Meshuggah and yourself to test out one of my patches with DFH and Trilogy and it is by far my best mix yet. Good Karma your way, my friend.

Testing out new bass tone! (Podxt, S2.0, BK painkillers)

Dude, that is awesome! It totally sounds full in the mix. Did you make any additional tweaks within Trilogy or did you simply EQ and compress as you said earlier?

Testing out new bass tone! (Podxt, S2.0, BK painkillers)

Which patch in Trilogy did you use? I'm just figuring it out and can't quite get what I'm looking for.

Hating my tone and my mixes

Well then, seems like my ear serves me correctly where my knowledge may fall short. My ear hears weakness in the mix where two of you have rightfully pointed out the kick and the bass (basically the entire low end) are lacking. The punch of the guitar just isn't there and from what you are...

Hating my tone and my mixes

I've had a PodXT for well over a year now and had the metal pack for just as long and tried every imaginable tone that anyone has used on wicked sounding recordings and when it comes to recording and mixing any of my own stuff it still sounds horrible. Doesn't seem to matter if I use impulses or...

Coroners Ritual - Demonic Twist (with Vocals!) have a listen, and express yourself!

Get's a little honky with some of the lows on the bass and the guitar is a little too saturated with high end and might use a low pass filter to trim a touch of the fuzz off but overall that is a wicked sounding and well written song. I wanna hear more.

    Impulse Response tips and tricks

What I meant by EQing your pod settings and rerecording was that after you choose an IR for a certain quality, say clarity or crunchiness you may need to adjust your pod settings to help eliminate an unwanted frequency which makes an otherwise fantastic sounding IR a little noisy, muddy or...

    Impulse Response tips and tricks

I'll chime in with a couple of bits of advice. +1 to the treadplate with IRs. I really wasn't that impressed with the overall sound I was getting from them until I went to it. Dual track your gits and then pan them left and right. Then duplicate each track and keep the panning. Add impulses...

WEWT!(6 string drop C material, Djent, toneport, metal foundry CRITPLZ)

Yeah, I might suggest throwing a parametric lowpass filter on the guitars to take a tiny bit of the twang edge away as it is something which is drawing my attention away from an otherwise great song and your playing. The 2-5k frequencies can be a little harsh in the overall mix and you can dial...

    Drop-F mixtest! PodXT, S2.0

Great all around. One tiny thing is that the snare is a little heavy on compression or maybe it is the overall master that is. You can hear a very very slight level dip on the snare hit. Correct that and I think it will be damn near to perfection. Wicked tune, wicked djent, great tone. Awesome.

    Pod blues boogie

So my buddy was pissed off after going through amp after amp and never finding one he quite liked. He mail ordered a boogie and said it never really got the chunk he wanted so he returned it in disbelief. I told him about my Pod XT and he sort of seemed interested as he now has kids and has to...

New sorta song/idea thing: Pod XT, Jackson 7, DFH

What's better than heavy music? Heavy music with Noam Chomsky (not really). This is really a bunch of riffs which I am making into a larger song but threw these samples over so that it wasn't so damn boring when I was showing it to friends as I didn't have the vox recorded. Mostly it's some...

The Summoning - New track - POD X3

Love it. Straight ahead metal Guitars might be turned down a touch to balance the mix a little better. The drums and bass are a little quiet in comparison. Other than that, great.

    Tone comments/suggestions

Seems like a good tone but if recording and mixing has taught me anything it is to never judge a tone out of context. This tone seems like it has clarity, crunch and enough mids to stand out in a mix or live but what I've taken to doing is created tones and then altering them rather heavily...

Anyone want to learn how to mix better? Suggested project/tutorial.

I have been desperately seeking a sound which eludes me and I'll be damned if I can mix a single thing which doesn't sound like total crap. There are a number of us on here who use similar variations on DFH, Pods and Impulses and many of you have really come up with some killer mixes (Mattayus...
